As the truth is revealed, Cassie finds herself in more danger than ever and Sunny makes an unlikely alliance to save her family. Then, a deadly attack at the diner changes everything.”

Tonight’s Big Sky episode begins with Paige, she walks up to Sunny near a campfire and reveals to her that thanks to her son, she is fine. Walter took her in, he saved her. Sunny reveals that Walter is in jail, he confessed to murdering her. Paige says it wasn’t part of the plan, for him to do that. First, she wants her bag, there is something in it she needs, her journal. Sunny wants to know if it has to do with the money she took. Paige tells her to help her get her journal and she will help get Walter out.
It’s Skylar and Austin’s wedding. Deputy Poppernak is there and he introduces himself to one of the bridesmaids, Natalie. Some start shouting for help, it is Skylar, she comes out of the house and she has blood all over her, she says Austin is dead, someone killed him.
Jenny and Beau go in to see Walter and tell him that they discovered his secret, twenty years ago he murdered his family in a house fire. He says they weren’t his parents. Beau says there was a little girl in that house, Meredith, did they kill her too? Walter says he was protecting her, they hurt her more than him, and he set her free. Walter says he has been in the woods all this time, Beau doesn’t buy it, he thinks someone was helping him. Jenny mentions Sunny and Buck, and Walter says to leave Sunny out of this.
Beau, Jenny, and Cassie discuss the case, Cassie thinks maybe Paige is not dead, they don’t have a body. She also wants to find Meredith. Jenny gets a call about the murder at the wedding, she takes it, Beau and Cassie stay there.
Sunny goes into the house and packed some snacks and water. Buck comes in and asks her why she was at the campgrounds, she says she was tidying up. She picked up his saddles. He asks if that is all, and she says yes. He reminds her that they agreed to put Paige and Walter behind them. He then hugs her and sees the water and snacks in her purse.
Jenny arrives at the wedding. The victim is Austin Chambers, he is 28 years old, and his bride-to-be is Skylar Sharpe, she found the body with the photographer. The time of death is early morning before the wedding party arrived. And, Skylar’s dad got into a big fight with the victim the night before. Jenny says it looks like he was hit with something sharp. Poppernak says something tells him this one is not going to be easy.
Denise tells Cassie, Beau, and Emily that she can’t find anything on Meredith. They search the name change database, Denise thinks she may have changed her name and they do find a Meredith Levinson who changed her name to Madeline Lowe, and she is still alive.
Jenny keeps getting calls from blocked numbers, and Poppernak tells her to just ignore them.
The bride’s dad, Eli, is waiting to speak to Poppernak and Jenny. Eli asks them to make it quick, he wants to be with his daughter. The fight was about money, Austin made his daughter sign a last-minute prenup, but it didn’t sit well with him. He says he didn’t do anything, Skylar stopped smiling after her mother died, and Austin was good for her even though he didn’t like his family.
Sunny meets with Tonya and Donna, and she tells them that Paige is alive. She wants them to help Paige get her 15 million dollars and she will split it with them. Tonya says they will get the journal. Sunny says they need each other if they want that money. Tonya wants to know what is in it for Sunny and she says it is her business. Sonya tells Sunny that she and Donna are not people she should mess with. Sunny grabs Tonya’s hand hard and says likewise.
Poppernak and Jenny interview Skylar, she says her father wouldn’t do this and she could care less about the prenup, or something more valuable, a dinosaur. She only found out about the fossil when Austin asked her to sign the prenup. He was going to unveil the fossil after the ceremony and name it after her. He didn’t know much about dinosaurs, he had to ask a friend about it.
Beau and Cassie head to Madeline’s house, they say they want to talk to her about the house fire. She says the people who died in the fire were not her parents, and she finds out that Walter is in custody. She tells him that Walter started the fire, but the Walter she knew was kind a gentle. Her adoptive parents, the things that went on in that house, were beaten and starved and Walter did what he did so they could escape. His birth mother picked them up, and she told her to change her name and never look back, she had red hair.
Avery calls Carla and tells her that no matter what happens he wants her to know that he loves her. There is something that he has to do, he got himself in a fix and he promises to make it right. He will do whatever he has to do so she and Emily are safe. He just wants her to know that he loves her and that is all that matters. He hangs up the phone.
Buck knows Sunny is lying to him. He got out to the campsite and calls out to see if anyone is there, Paige is inside and she is afraid. She peeks out and Buck sees her.
Jenny goes to the archaeological site where the dinosaur was being dug umm she gets pushed in a hole and turns quickly with her gun aimed. The guy who pushed her is Carson Price, Austin’s best man. He says he thought she was trespassing, the site is still secret and they are watching it. He shows her the dig, you can see the bones, it is a T-Rex. Carson says this was just a side hustle. Carson says he was asleep in his room when Austin was shot, but nobody can verify his claim.
Carla calls Beau and says she thinks something horrible happened, she needs him to go to Avery’s hotel.
One of the florist’s crew saw someone come out of Austin’s room and fits the timeline of the murder, the suspect had a jacket with a reflective button on it, and Jenny says Carson had a jacket like that.
Sunny brings Donna and Tonya to the campsite to meet with Paige, she is gone. Tonya pulls a gun on Sunny, she tells Donna to go look for Paige.
Jenny tells Carson that he was seen coming out of Austin’s room, he says he didn’t do it, he knows who it could have been. Natalie, Skylar’s bridesmaid, was fooling around with Austin.
Poppernak thinks it may have been a jealous rage, but Jenny is thinking something else, what if on your wedding day you find out that you are betrayed by the two people who you trust the most? They go after Skylar.
Cassie is with Cormack, he says he knows Walter is his half-brother, he found out yesterday and he is still processing it. HIs mother lied to him his entire life, but she still is his mother. He doesn’t know what to do. She tells him to do what is right. He tells her that whatever she finds, he is his own man.
Beau arrives at Avery’s place and sees the gun and the bullets.
Jenny and Poppernak find Skylar at the dinosaur dig area, she has a hammer in her hand and we see Natalie in a hole with dirt on her. Poppernak talks her down, gets her to the ground, and handcuffs her. Jenny runs into the whole to check on Natalie, she is still alive, and Skylar says she is not sorry.
It is late, Jenny takes a chance and swings by Beau’s trailer with a six-pack of beer. Carla and Emily pull up, Beau invited them over to protect them, and he is worried about Avery. Jenny makes her excuses and leaves, but turns around first and sees Beau hugging Carla.
Avery makes a call and says he wants a larger finders fee and protection for his family. He is trying to negotiate with the wrong people, they are not going to negotiate.
Jenny arrives home and sees that the front door is ajar, and there are clothes with blood on them, says what the hell, then “mom,” and looks heartbroken.
Elsewhere, Paige is tied up, ductile another mouth, struggling to get free and Buck is standing above her. He tells her that he doesn’t understand why she thought it was a good idea to stick around. The doorbell rings, he goes to answer it and it is Cassie at the door, she says she wants to talk. On the other side of the door, Buck has a big knife in his hand. Then we see Buck slowly put his hand on the handle and opens the door.
