In tonight’s Blue Bloods episode, Anthony got a promotion. He was going to be taking over as the Chief Investigator for the District Attorney’s Office. His old boss was retiring and there was no one better than Anthony to replace him. But it would mean more work.
It would also mean Anthony would be in charge of the detectives at the office and that now he’ll be in charge of the guy that gets to work with Erin. Erin was Anthony’s best friend. They’ve worked alongside each other for years. It wasn’t even a day before Anthony mentioned the new job to Erin and she didn’t take it well. Erin said she wonders why he got the job.
She said this to Anthony. Anthony thinks he got the job because he’s good at it. Erin thinks he got the job because someone was pulling strings and she was worried about the implications. She also thought it had something to do with her. Which Anthony hadn’t liked.
Anthony accused her of making everything about her and he called her paranoid as well as walked away from her. He also took the job. He did in just to spite Erin. He didn’t think of what the job would entail or the politics involved and so he really just took it to spite Erin Reagan. And he wasn’t the only one spiting a Reagan.
Eddie has this usual call to an apartment building. She gets the call because its on her route and she knew the parties involved. It was a case of feuding neighbors. The neighbors have been going at each other for years. One plays his drums too loud. The other two play their Broadway music too loud.
One guy has a dog poisoned with a chocolate cupcake. The other two play got the vomit from the dog wiped all over the door. On and on it went. Eddie responded to calls from that building all the time. She was getting fed up. She tried to reason with them. It didn’t work. She tried yelling at them and again it didn’t work.
They simply refused to listen to her. The next thing Eddie hears was something about murder. One of out of the gay couple had been killed. Naturally, the chief suspect was the neighbor. The same neighbor that threatened to kill him just earlier that day. Danny and Baez got assigned to the case.
They went looking for the missing neighbor and couldn’t find him. It was actually Eddie who brought the guy in. The young man was claiming innocence. He said he didn’t stick around to be questioned because he had wanted a drink first and that’s why it may have seemed like he was in hiding when he wasn’t.
But here’s the kicker. The man was already dead when he was stabbed. He died of a heart attack and then someone stabbed him several times long after he died. They spoke to the guy they had in custody. He denied stabbing his neighbor. He claims he never stabbed him or tried to kill. The detectives suddenly had to look for a stabber though not a killer. Later, there was a break in the case. The neighbor now that he had cleared of murder had returned to the apartment building to find a camera planted in his shrubbery on the balcony. The camera has been recording him. It could have been doing for months. And it led back to his embittered neighbor’s place.
The video camera was evidence. Danny checked the footage and he found out that the dead guy set up the camera. He was spying on his neighbor, but he accidentally filmed himself as well and so that’s how he found out his husband was having an affair. They were playing loud music to drown their fights. When one husband died of natural causes, the other saw him lying in wait and attempted to kill him. The man was now facing charges of attempted murder. And the neighbor feud had finally ended with only one casualty and a newfound respect for people who can get along.
As this was happening, Anthony found out something. He found out that District Attorney did put in place his promotion. They did it because they wanted to separate Anthony and Erin. Anthony went to Erin’s office after he found out the truth behind his promotion. He later told Erin about it. And while neither of them apologized for the things they said earlier – they did make peace and they tried to keep working together.
And Frank dealt with an injured cop who was having a tough time returning to the field.
THE END!
