In tonight’s Bull episode, two undercover officers dressed in plain clothes shoot a man who they misidentified. Some time later, Chunk tells Bull about the case. He would like to represent the man’s mother. They head to meet her. She tells them about Corey and how special he was. She received a settlement from the city but she doesn’t plan to use the money for herself. She plans to make it so other mothers don’t lose their sons.
Bull and Chunk leave and see Marissa having lunch with an opposing firm. The owner of the firm tries to cover for her but Marissa tells Bull its a job interview. He is dumbfounded. Back at thee office, they argue. She thought maybe she would be offered Benny’s office and position. Just then, Bull’s wife comes in. She needs the key to Benny’s office. He promised she could use it. Marissa leaves angry and tells Taylor whose also having a bad day, her computer was just hijacked.
In court, Chunk is trying to make his case for the wrongful death of Corey. Bull calls Taylor for help but their system is still down. Chunk tries to make his case until the fire alarm goes off. It was Bull. He buys Chunk sometime who returns to the court room after and makes his case the facial record software sold to the police is deceptive. The judge approves the case moving forward. Bull heads back to the office. He and Marissa argue again. He tells her he will run the board on this case. She runs into his wife. She vents. Bull’s wife tells her how much she is needed.
Taylor hunts down her hacker and offers her $5 grand. They two hit it off after the woman realizes how talented Taylor is. Meanwhile, Bull runs the board as Chunk is in court. Chunk cross examines the police who shot Corey. Chunk has the jury on his side until they learn the white cops partner was African American. Corey’s mom leaves the court room.
That night, Bull and his wife discuss Marissa. She gives him a lot to think about if Marissa leaves. Meanwhile, Taylor and her new wing woman get to work trying to hack one of her hackers.
Bull meets with Marissa and gives her all she was asking for. She tells him she needs time but then accepts. Chunk gets a call from the facial recognition company. They want to settle. They won’t sell to the New York Police department anywhere in the entire state. Corey’s mother however, can not disclose the deal. She decides against it. They are looking to make her quiet and she gets no justice for the loss of her son. Bull and Chunk think she is making the right choice.
Corey’s mom takes the stand and describes how her son was misidentification by an algorithm. Ultimately they lose the case. Corey’s mom is happy she was able to speak on behalf of her son. Bull doesn’t think it all feels right. Why would the company settle when they knew they were winning?
Taylor secures some financial records and more to prove the facial records software company is deceptive. The company folds overnight, claiming bankruptcy with the CEO arrested. Marissa calls to turn down her job with Lena but then he sweetens the pot with a partnership. She heads to tell Bull. Lena sees her worth. She says goodbye. He is speechless.
