Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) will need a new woman after grieving Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller). Who will the widower move on with after Abigail’s looming death?
DOOL could’ve just sent Chad and Abigail off canvas together again. We’ve seen “Chabby” leave for Paris before, so they could’ve gone with a similar “riding off into the sunset” type of exit.
Instead, all signs point to Abigail meeting a grim fate. Days insiders insist Abigail will be killed off in a brutal way, so where does that leave Chad?
Of course, Chad will need to mourn the loss for a while. He may even seek revenge on Abigail’s murderer as he struggles to cope.
Chad certainly had a rough time back when Abigail was presumed dead in a plane crash, so he’s been down this path of heartbreak before.
It’ll just feel more final this time due to having a corpse, especially one that’s supposed to be in truly bad shape.
Naturally, that doesn’t mean this Days death will stick forever. Any demise can be undone on the NBC soap, but they’re at least going to rest the character for the foreseeable future.
Once Chad grieves for Abigail and is ready to move on, Days will need to find a new love interest for him.
It’s going to be hard to replicate the kind of love Chad found with Abigail.
“Chabby” certainly had a special bond, but that doesn’t mean Chad can’t find a different kind of love with someone else.
It’s possible the show could try Chad and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) again, but they were awfully unpopular last time around.
The same goes for Chad and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) – and that’d be complicated anyway due to Gwen’s role in sending Abigail to the remote island.
DOOL teased the possibility of Chad and Belle Brady (Martha Madison) years ago, but Belle seems poised to have a love triangle with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) and EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreigel) soon enough.
Perhaps the best thing the show could do is just start fresh with a brand-new woman.
The ideal option here would be to cast someone specifically for Chad and try to create another pairing that actually works.
