Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Did Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) kill Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller)? Could Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) own sister be revealed as the murder culprit?
Many Days fans have been complaining about this whodunit feeling like it was thrown together at the last minute.
It indeed feels that way on some level, but there are other reasons to think Days has been building to the big reveal for quite some time.
Let’s think back to when Abigail was kidnapped and stuck on the DiMera island with Kristen.
As early as January and February, the show was offering up ominous hints about DiMera betrayals and Abigail’s death.
When Chad realized Kristen was likely the one holding Abigail hostage, he took some relief in that.
Chad felt like since Kristen was family, she wouldn’t do anything to truly harm his wife.
Of course, soaps do this sort of thing all the time. Having a character feel secure in something usually results in catastrophe later.
Whenever someone declares that nothing will ruin their wedding day, you can bet those nuptials are going to crash and burn!
When someone insists nothing will go wrong with a baby delivery, there are most certainly going to be complications.
Soaps have a history of characters saying one thing before the exact opposite happens.
In other words, Chad’s certainty that Abigail was safe with Kristen may have been building to this moment. Perhaps Kristen was the biggest threat of all.
That brings us to a comment EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) made back in the February 21 episode.
EJ talked about how DiMeras stabbed each other in the back figuratively but never literally – though he did acknowledge there were exceptions.
Now that Abigail has been stabbed, there are reasons to think a DiMera – namely Kristen – might be responsible.
Chad assumed Abigail would be protected under the DiMera code, but maybe she wasn’t.
It makes sense to bring Kristen back into this storyline since there’s been a lot of talk about the discarded syringe that started this mess.
Abigail left a stray drug dose behind in the secret room, so Kristen found that and used it to drug Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey).
That led to a horrible chain reaction, so maybe everything’s coming full circle with Kristen and Abigail as the key players.
Kristen nearly killed Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) by stabbing him in a fit of rage, so who’s to say she didn’t lose it on Abigail?
It might’ve even been a situation where there was a struggle and Abigail fell on Kristen’s knife.
We know Kristen will play a big role in a very villainous arc that’s brewing, so this could tie in with that.
Kristen is capable of anything when she’s pushed to her vengeful breaking point.
DOOL writers would need to dive a bit deeper into Kristen’s motives, but she would make sense as someone connected to Abigail’s story with easy DiMera mansion access.
