Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) angry passion could erupt. Will these bitter lovers come together after a string of betrayals and losses? Days could easily build a new love story between Ava and EJ, so let’s talk about why it would work.
DOOL fans will recall that Ava was obsessed with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) for years, but she was finally able to shake that infatuation.
Ava tried to turn her life around and become a better person for Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams), but now Tripp’s out of town.
Although Ava worked to stay on the right path for Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering), all that got her was a betrayal from a close friend.
Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) slept with Rafe, so Ava had to deal with the double blow of Rafe’s disloyalty and Nicole’s involvement pouring salt in the wound.
Now Ava will feel like she’s on the verge of living happily ever after with Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash), but he’ll be killed off shortly after he proposes during the week of July 25-29.
Considering all the losses Ava has had to deal with, it won’t be surprising if she reverts to her most sinister form.
Of course, there’s another Days character on canvas right now who’s been burned one time too many and is showing just how conniving he can be.
EJ is definitely feeling bitter over losing yet another chance with Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney).
Since EJ also lost Belle Brady (Martha Madison) as a consolation prize, he could use another love interest who understands him.
EJ has faced some betrayals of his own since Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) helped Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) frame him for kidnapping – and then Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) hid the truth for months.
Between all that and EJ’s persistent Clyde Weston (James Read) drama, it’s easy to see why EJ is throwing himself into a fight for DiMera Enterprises control. EJ is resorting to blackmail to get what he wants and proving he’s ruthless.
This is partly a distraction from EJ’s heartache and partly just his true manipulative form coming to the surface.
Ava is also manipulative and dangerous at her core, so she seems like she’d make a great match for EJ.

Could Ava and EJ’s mutual misery lay the groundwork for a passionate connection?
