Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, August 26, teases that Kate Roberts’ (Lauren Koslow) punishment was revealed while Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) faced a job offer snag. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Walker Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) also resorted to some deception, so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
Downstairs at the pub, Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) could tell Eric was sweaty and kept quizzing him about why since he obviously hadn’t been working out this morning.
Meanwhile, Nicole learned Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) used Eric’s shower while he was off fixing her air conditioning.
Since Jada was in a towel, Nicole admitted she had assumed the detective slept with Eric – and Jada confirmed that she did.
Nicole thought it was a little fast and tried to play it off like she was watching out for Eric as her friend.
However, Jada really didn’t think it was any of “Mrs. Hernandez’s” business.
Eric eventually interrupted on Friday’s Days episode, so Jada left and gave him a chance to talk to Nicole alone.
There was some awkwardness as Nicole relayed the hookup news she’d gotten from Jada.
Eric wondered why Nicole came to see him, so she confessed to having a dream about him.
That was weird to Eric since he had a dream about Nicole as well. Nicole and Eric ultimately lied about some silly dreams to cover up the more scandalous ones they actually had.
Back with Roman, he received a little gift from Kate for his birthday.
Kate confessed she indeed turned herself in as an accessory after the fact in Lucas Horton’s (Bryan Dattilo) kidnapping, but she only got a fine and 200 hours of community service.
After Kate asked if they could get back to what they had before, Roman decided to give her another chance and embraced her.
At Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) place, she pumped the brakes when Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) wanted them to hang out with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) again.
Allie didn’t think Alex would stop asking for a threesome, but Chanel liked all the attention they were getting.
That said, Chanel was only interested in a twosome with her girlfriend, so Allie relented on hanging out with Alex before they shared a kiss.
Moments later, Paulina Price-Carver (Jackée Harry) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) showed up with good news about Abe’s run for governor.
Since Paulina wanted Sweet Bits to make tons of cookies for the campaign, Chanel agreed – though she felt her mother owed Allie an apology first.
Paulina decided that was true and was sorry for almost teaming up with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) to sabotage Chanel’s relationship.
Now that Paulina was past her old-fashioned view of what Chanel’s life should look like, she just wanted her daughter to be happy – and she could tell Allie indeed made her happy.
Afterward, Paulina and Abe found Roman engaging in some PDA with Kate.
The four of them sat down to celebrate that reunion along with Abe’s run for governor, but someone spied ominously through the window outside.
In the town square, Alex was instantly smitten with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and tried to get her to go to dinner with him.
Stephanie wasn’t interested nor was she amused over Alex’s cheesy pickup lines.
Alex convinced Stephanie to at least let him replace the coffee she spilled, so Stephanie offered a rather complicated order.
When Alex returned, Stephanie was surprised to find he actually got the order right.
Alex admitted he’d asked the barista for help, so Stephanie acted like he must’ve hit on her, too.
Nevertheless, Alex only had eyes for Stephanie and kept trying to convince her to spend time with him.
After Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stopped by Titan and filled Sonny in on his chat with Stephanie, Sonny decided he could potentially hire her PR firm.
Once Sonny called to set up a meeting, Stephanie gladly took the opportunity to bail on Alex.
Stephanie then made her way to Titan and heard Sonny’s hiring offer, but Alex showed up for work and derailed the conversation.
This was kismet in Alex’s opinion, but Stephanie was obviously annoyed.
Sonny explained that Alex was his brother – and he told Alex that this was Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) daughter.
Stephanie’s eyes widened as she assumed Alex was her cousin and seemed relieved that she’d turned him down.
Alex clarified that he was only Sonny’s half-brother and added that Anjelica Deveraux (Judith Chapman) was his mother, so they had no romantic impediment. Stephanie made it clear that she still wasn’t interested in Alex.
In a moment alone with Sonny, Stephanie hesitated to accept his offer to hire her PR firm due to the whole Alex situation.
As for Alex on Friday’s Days episode, he ran into Allie and Chanel back in the town square.
Chanel and Allie assumed Alex still needed wing women, but he insisted he’d met the woman of his dreams.
