Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, December 23 Recap – Sarah Livid Over Xander’s Gift – Abigail’s Angelic Vow to Chad

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, December 23, reveals that Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) gave Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) an early Christmas gift since this one had to be opened before the tree-trimming party. Xander was touched when he realized it was a personalized ornament, but he didn’t feel worthy of putting it on her family’s tree with the others.

Sarah rambled about all the problematic members of her family and didn’t think Xander should feel guilty about it.

When Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) showed up at their motel room, she agreed with Sarah and reminded Xander that he was a hero for saving Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans).

In the Horton dining room, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) talked to Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) over the phone about how she didn’t have to help Xander again after all. However, Gwen still let Xander know that he owed her one.

Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) overheard and kept asking questions about what kind of favor Gwen did for Xander.

Gwen came up with a lie about helping Xander pick out Sarah’s Christmas present and got Thomas to pinky-swear that it’d be their little secret.

Unfortunately, Thomas still let it slip later in a moment alone with Sarah at the party.

Sarah got updates on what Gwen told Thomas and fumed over Xander’s ex helping him choose her gift.

Although Sarah kept her cool at the gathering, she wasn’t happy when she returned to the motel room.

Things got worse when Xander wanted Sarah to open his gift for her.

Sarah mentioned how Thomas said Gwen helped select her present, so Xander was forced to play along.

Once Sarah opened the box and found lingerie, she fumed over Gwen and Xander picking it out together.

In the cemetery on Friday’s Days episode, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) put flowers on Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) grave before Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) arrived.

Jennifer and Chad comforted each other as they faced Christmas without their beloved Abigail.

Back at the Horton house, Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) was disappointed about not having enough family there for Christmas.

As Julie talked to Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) about wishing Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) wasn’t so far away, Eli walked in with Jules and Carver Grant.

Julie was delighted over this surprise and asked Eli how he’d been coping with Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) in prison.

Eli admitted it had been tough, but Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams) had been a big help – and Eli had learned to do a lot of things on his own with the twins.

Next, Eli shared a nice DOOL scene with Chad as they commiserated about not having their true loves around.

Julie also greeted Jennifer and bickered with Gwen in the dining room over the desserts.

Gwen acted like Julie needed to show her a little respect considering Jennifer would be spending the holidays in Statesville if it wasn’t for her.

Julie heard the news about Jennifer mowing down Gwen and caved on letting her put out Christmas pudding – though she warned she’d never surrender on Gwen hanging an ornament.

Doug sang a holiday song before the Horton tree was trimmed as usual.

Jack wanted to sneak upstairs for some passion with Jennifer later, but that plan was delayed by JJ Deveraux’s (Casey Moss) phone call.

In the living room alone, Chad hoped that he’d made things OK for the kids considering they had to spend Christmas without their mom.

As the angel disappeared from the tree, Abigail popped up behind Chad in vision form and was sure he did great.

Abigail pointed out that a little thing like death couldn’t come between a love like theirs.

Although Chad missed Abigail, she reminded him to be strong for himself in addition to the kids.

Abigail felt there was still so much for Chad to do and vowed to be there for him every step of the way.

After Abigail urged Chad to look for her in their kids’ faces, she wished him a merry Christmas and vanished.

As Friday’s Days episode wrapped up, Chad wished Abigail a merry Christmas as well and noticed the angel was back on top of the tree.
