Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Friday, January 14 Recap – Chad Catches EJ Kissing Abigail – Brady Shocked by Kate’s Request

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 14, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) caught EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) kissing Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) – and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) was shocked by Kate Roberts’ (Lauren Koslow) strange request. Here’s how all the DOOL drama went down on Friday’s exciting Days episode.

At Basic Black, Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) ignored her mom’s calls since she assumed Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) was just looking for Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) updates.

Brady got a call from Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) with the latest news from Italy, but they still didn’t know if Philip was dead or alive.

Brady assured Chloe that they’d get to the bottom of whether Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was involved and suggested grabbing some food, so they headed to the pub.

Meanwhile, Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) also ended up at the pub and explained to Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) that he’d been subpoenaed to testify at EJ’s trial.

Lucas went on a tirade about EJ kidnapping Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), but Kate urged him to save his righteous indignation.

Kate knew Lucas was the one who abducted Sami and explained the whole situation with Chad, who was now determined to undo his mistake and expose the planted proof.

Lucas freaked over Kate’s admission, but she added that Chad was going to leave Lucas out of it.

No one would ever know Lucas was guilty, but Brady and Chloe interrupted with questions.

Brady wondered what it was Lucas was guilty of, but Lucas just acted like he should’ve figured out what happened to Sami sooner.

Kate wanted to speak with Brady alone, so that left Chloe to grill Lucas about why he was so worked up.

Lucas downplayed everything while Kate pushed Brady to call off the search he hired Steve for.

Brady was puzzled over Kate not wanting answers, but she suggested she didn’t want to lose hope of Philip’s survival.

Besides, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) already had people on the case, so Kate acted like Steve would just get in the way.

Brady pointed out that he’d made a promise to Chloe, so he couldn’t call off the search and still intended to get answers.

Afterward on Friday’s Days episode, Chloe was stunned when her mom showed up out of the blue.

Nancy complained about Chloe dodging her calls and admitted she wasn’t there about Philip. She thought Chloe’s father was having an affair!

At the Kiriakis mansion, Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) were surprised when Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) took Victor’s meeting for him.

Maggie admitted she was in the loop on all the Titan and DiMera takeover plans – starting with Victor’s seat on the DiMera board.

Maggie liked the sound of everything, especially since Victor could use the distraction of a big win.

That said, Maggie warned that Victor needed a guarantee that they had the necessary votes at DiMera. It was then and only then that they could lock in a deal.

Later, Jake and Gabi worked on rounding up all the votes they needed. They ultimately realized Johnny in particular might be able to help them.

After overhearing Lucas and Kate’s discussion at the pub, Johnny rushed to the courtroom and stood outside with his fingers interlocked.

Johnny closed Chad’s throat up, so that caused a choking fit along with a recess that prevented Chad from speaking the truth.

Chad wasn’t sure what happened once he spoke with Abigail alone, but he soon regained his composure.

Abigail was concerned when Chad made cryptic comments about not wanting her to be complicit. He couldn’t tell Abigail anything more right now, but he felt confident everything would be OK.

As for Johnny, he encouraged EJ to trust him. Johnny wanted to go ahead and lock in the shares since things could move quickly if EJ was convicted.

Belle Brady (Martha Madison) pointed out that EJ could still be acquitted and was uneasy over him transferring ownership of the shares to Johnny temporarily.

Belle at least wanted to look over the agreement, but Johnny got rid of her and reassured EJ. Johnny argued that EJ needed protection from his backstabbing brother, not his son.

After EJ signed the paperwork to make it official, he filled Belle in on what he’d done and acted like Johnny was trustworthy.

Belle remained suspicious of Johnny, but she hoped it was all moot since Chad might actually be on EJ’s side now.

In private at the courthouse, Abigail encountered what was obviously the devil in disguise.

“EJ” sauntered in and insisted something had been on his mind for a very long time. He’d tried to suppress his feelings, but he just couldn’t.

“Abigail, I want you,” the devil said while posing as EJ. He acted like he’d only used Sami and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zuekcer) to try to get Abigail off his mind, but it didn’t work.

“EJ” had longed to “ravage” Abigail and felt there was no time like the present. He planted a big kiss on Abigail right as Chad walked in on the sizzling moment.
