Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, January 28, reveals that fans got their first glimpse of the real Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) while EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) hinted at an escape plot. Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) also had some shocking news for Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), so here’s how all the Days drama played out.
First on Friday’s DOOL episode, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) texted Chad from Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) phone to buy some time.
Gwen pretended Abigail had to rush to Boston and help her parents, so Chad bought the lie and soon turned his attention to Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
After Johnny called the judge and insisted EJ deserved to be locked away for a long time, he told Chad the possession movie was back on.
Johnny hoped Abigail would be home soon to play Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and pointed out Chad could stick it to EJ by playing John Black (Drake Hogestyn).
Johnny also taunted Chad a bit by suggesting he wouldn’t want someone else in love scenes with his wife.
Later, Chad spoke to Jennifer over the phone and was alarmed to learn Abigail wasn’t in Boston with her.
Next on Friday’s Days episode, Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) dragged a sack containing Abigail to a beach house and sprawled her out on the sofa.
Abigail woke up and wondered where she was, so Kristen welcomed her to “Fantasy Island” and offered a drink to flush the sedatives out of her system.
When Abigail became determined to look for an escape route, Kristen pulled a gun on her and forced her to sit down.
Abigail thought back to what happened on the airfield before Kristen insisted this happened because she poked her nose where it didn’t belong.
Abigail countered that it happened because she got too close to the truth about Sarah.
Abigail demanded answers about Sarah as Kristen smirked and seemingly enjoyed having the upper hand.
Back with Gwen, she got a snow globe of London as a gift from Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer).
Xander was sorry for spoiling their holiday plans so he could play detective and now knew “Sarah” truly wanted nothing to do with him.
After Xander assured Gwen that he wouldn’t leave her, they made love.
Xander also mentioned getting some good advice from “Sarah” that he intended to take.
Xander wanted to put Sarah behind him and focus on Gwen, so he proved it by getting out of bed and dropping to one knee.
Xander knew he was a naked scoundrel who didn’t deserve Gwen, but he made a sweet speech and asked her to marry him.
Meanwhile, DOOL fans saw Sarah looking rather angelic in a white dress and sporting a new island hairdo. Sarah turned for a big reveal to fans in a bedroom.
Back in Salem, EJ was apologetic for getting on the stand and making matters worse for himself.
Belle Brady (Martha Madison) offered support and straightened EJ’s tie for him before they headed in the courtroom.
After the judge sentenced EJ to 10 years at Statesville, he had an outburst in front of Belle.
EJ pushed Belle to leave since her work was done, but she wanted to stick around.
When EJ grew pushy about Belle taking off, she realized he was planning to escape.
Belle warned EJ that if he moved forward with that plan, he’d never see his children again.
EJ eventually called off the extraction, so Belle was relieved and vowed to prove EJ’s innocence. At one point, Belle also touched EJ’s hand in a tender moment.
In the town square, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) acted like her faceoff with TR Coates (William Christian) was about his business with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).
Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) introduced herself to TR, but Paulina piped up that Lani was her niece and dragged Lani away before TR could put anything together.
Once they made it back to Lani’s apartment, she called Paulina out on how weird and paranoid she was acting about a man she just met.
Paulina pretended she didn’t know TR, but she knew the type and tried to convince Lani this was about protecting their family.
After Lani stepped out of the room for a work call, Paulina looked at a picture of the twins and vowed to make sure TR didn’t find out Lani was his daughter.
In the town square again, TR put Lani’s name into a search engine.
TR also ran into Johnny, who had talked things over with Marlena and cleared the path for their possession movie.
Johnny shook hands with TR and smiled over bringing the devil back to Salem.
