Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Friday, September 2, reveals that Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) spied Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) hugging Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) while Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) scored crime scene evidence that pointed to Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart). Here’s how all the DOOL action played out.
In Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) hotel suite, Nicole Walker Hernandez (Arianne Zucker) offered updates on Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) sleeping with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and how she discovered it.
Nicole also admitted to chickening out and coming up with a fake dream story for Eric, but she found herself wondering if he lied about his own steamy dream, too.
Chloe had secondhand embarrassment from Nicole’s behavior and didn’t think she should be this interested in her ex’s personal life. Nicole insisted she cared about Eric and wanted to run a background check on Jada, but Chloe urged her to see that she was going off the rails.
Since Rafe was Nicole’s husband, Chloe felt that she needed to make a decision regarding her marriage and stop all the Eric obsessing.
At the Salem PD, Rafe’s gut told him that Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was telling the truth – that Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) was still alive when she left her. Rafe relayed that to Jada, who also pointed out they still didn’t have the murder weapon.
Since DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) was ready to take Gwen down for this, Jada and Rafe knew they’d have to be sneaky about their continued Leo investigation.
There was also talk about Jada dating the man who used to be married to Rafe’s current wife. Jada seemed on edge over the weirdness and Nicole’s lingering feelings for Eric, so Rafe was thrown when she took off suddenly.
At the pub, Stephanie entered and found Eric behind the bar, so they caught up on each other’s love lives. After Eric mentioned Jada on Friday’s Days episode, she walked in and chatted with Stephanie briefly.
At Titan on Friday’s Days episode, Leo tried to figure out how to help Sonny and was stooping beside him when Chad arrived. Chad angrily demanded to know what Leo did, but Leo denied being responsible for the attack.
After Chad pushed Leo to call for paramedics, he did his best to stop Sonny’s bleeding with his jacket. Chad also warned that if Sonny died, then Leo would die, too.
Despite Leo’s claims of innocence, Chad was convinced that he went after Abigail and now Sonny. Leo was ultimately able to slip away before the cops could take him back into custody.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Alex interrupted Justin Kiriakis’ (Wally Kurth) indoor picnic with Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) and filled them in on meeting the girl of his dreams.
Justin was surprised by the way Alex talked about Stephanie, but he understood Sonny ordering his brother to keep things professional. Bonnie, on the other hand, felt that Alex should ignore Titan’s rules and pursue Stephanie if she was truly the one.
Justin eventually got a call about Sonny’s attack, so he headed to the hospital with Bonnie and Alex. Sonny was rushed there and remained in bad shape as Justin looked on with Bonnie nearby.
In the town square, Stephanie was with Rafe when he got the call about Sonny’s stabbing. The Titan office was also taped off as a crime scene, where Chad told Rafe how he found Leo standing over Sonny’s injured body.
Later, Stephanie approached Chad at the hospital and hugged him – just in time for Alex to witness the close moment.
As for Jada, she told Eric about Nicole seeming too interested in his private life. Eric and Jada were about to have dinner together, but she had to take a raincheck after receiving the stabbing news.
Once Jada arrived to help Rafe investigate at Titan, they acknowledged the new clues: Leo’s revenge list of enemies and the knife that was presumably used in Abigail’s attack, too.
In Leo’s motel room, he was in panic mode as he realized he was being framed! As other Days details emerge, we’ll keep you in the loop.
