Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Monday, August 29, reveals that Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) and Marlena Evans’ (Deidre Hall) escape was blocked. Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) also became Orpheus’ (DelHoyo) new prisoner, so let’s talk about how all the DOOL action went down.
In the town square, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) gushed over Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) and his belief that they were soulmates.
Despite Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and Chanel Dupree’s (Raven Bowens) skepticism, Alex planned to make winning Stephanie over his whole focus.
Allie told Alex that no means no, so he insisted he wouldn’t pressure Stephanie.
Alex had no intention of blowing this by coming on too strong, but Allie and Chanel assumed that’s exactly what he was going to do.
At Titan, Stephanie didn’t want to work with Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) if Alex was going to be hitting on her all the time – especially since he wasn’t her type and never would be.
Sonny convinced Stephanie that Alex was probably into another woman by now, so Stephanie agreed her PR firm would represent Titan.
Moments later, Alex entered with flowers for Stephanie, who left Sonny to deal with his brother.
Although Alex was excited to learn Stephanie would be working at Titan, Sonny argued that it meant no dating. Titan had a very strict policy on that.
Alex decided he’d just quit, but Sonny warned that he’d be throwing his job away over nothing since Stephanie wasn’t interested.
Nevertheless, Alex was certain that Stephanie would fall for him eventually.
At the pub, Orpheus moseyed in and derailed Roman Brady’s (Josh Taylor) birthday celebration with Kate, Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Paulina Price-Carver (Jackée Harry).
Once Orpheus was pushed to leave, he decided he would – though he ominously talked about seeing everyone around town.
Elsewhere, Marlena and Kayla were tied to chairs as they thought back to the blindfolded ride over.
Kayla and Marlena determined that they were likely in a warehouse down by the docks.
Just as Kayla and Marlena were about to wiggle out of their restraints, Orpheus showed up to tighten them again.
The cruel captor also taunted Marlena and Kayla by eating some food in front of them.
In the park on Monday’s Days episode, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) discussed their lack of leads.
Once John heard from Abe, he went to the pub to learn more about the Orpheus drama earlier.
As for Steve, he lied to Stephanie about Kayla attending a medical conference with Marlena.
However, Steve kept looking at Kayla’s picture and was clearly worried about the danger she was actually in.
Back in the town square, Kate approached Allie and Chanel in hopes of getting a dessert for Roman’s birthday.
While Chanel went inside Sweet Bits, Kate told Allie that Roman had forgiven her – and she hoped Allie would forgive her, too.
Allie was cold at first, but Kate revealed how she turned herself in as an accessory after the fact.
Once Kate explained her punishment, she got emotional over her regrets.
Kate was sorry for only protecting Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) and not thinking about how it would affect Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) or Allie.
It didn’t take long for Allie’s resolve to crumble, so she hugged Kate and patched things up with her.
After Allie joined Chanel in the bakery on Monday’s Days episode, they both returned outside to find that Kate was gone.
Back in the warehouse, Orpheus called Roman from Kate’s phone and sent his regrets from the guests who wouldn’t make it to the party.
Kate was now tied up along with Marlena and Kayla, so Orpheus had gained yet another hostage.
