Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers for Monday, December 19, reveals that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) reflected on wanting to be a good mother and always having the right motives despite her mistakes. John Black (Drake Hogestyn) acted like he understood and pushed Kristen to unload what was bothering her.
Kristen exited before spilling anything, so John left Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) a voicemail and remained determined to get to the bottom of what Kristen was hiding.
In the town square, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) heard a boom nearby, but they guessed it must be thunder.
Eric pried the whole truth out of Brady regarding the former hostages, the orchid cure and how Kristen was using the situation to control him.
Although Brady didn’t see that he had a choice, Eric seemed hopeful about finding a solution and vowed not to tell anyone else.
At the hospital, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) surprised Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) with a birthday cake and had some of her coworkers take a break to help celebrate.
Sarah revealed her wish was for Xander to forgive her since she hurt him recently.
Xander acted like it was no big deal, but Sarah insisted Xander had worked hard to change and felt she should’ve had faith in him.
It seemed like Xander was ready to confess his misdeeds for a moment, but Sarah got distracted with her hospital duties.
At the church following the explosion, Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) woke up coughing along with EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), who had a gash on his head.
EJ made sure Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) was OK in the rubble nearby.
Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) awoke and seemed fine, but Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) wasn’t breathing. Tripp did CPR until Marlena found a pulse, so he was relieved over Ava hanging in there.
As for Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), she regained consciousness and realized her arm was injured. There was also a large beam trapping Nicole’s leg, so EJ and the others worked to free her.
At one point on Monday’s Days episode, the ceiling seemed like it was going to cave in, so EJ shielded Nicole from falling debris.
Although Nicole urged everyone to just leave her, EJ refused and got help releasing her trapped leg.
Johnny helped Tripp drag Ava’s body outside – and later, Ava woke up in a hospital bed.
Ava was so relieved to know Tripp made it to safety, but he couldn’t understand why she’d plant a bomb and put innocent lives at risk.
At the pub on Monday’s DOOL episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) commiserated over their EJ issues.
Once a call came in with updates on the explosion, Steve and Rafe rushed to the hospital.
In Ava’s room, Rafe handcuffed her to her hospital bed and pointed out that she was facing five counts of attempted murder – plus whatever else DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) could tack on.
Ava smugly acted like they’d see about that and kept taunting Rafe about losing Nicole. Since Tripp seemed to be suffering from smoke inhalation, Steve and Ava convinced him to see a doctor.
Marlena looked rough when she showed up back at the townhouse, where John, Brady and Kristen heard about her ordeal. Kristen wasn’t very compassionate about the whole thing and wondered what Brady thought of Marlena trying to kick him out.
Brady assured Kristen that he wanted to celebrate Christmas as a family, so she said that’s what she wanted too and acted like Marlena would just have to deal with it.
Back at the hospital, Xander freaked over the news that Ava was alive and visited her room. Ava informed Xander that he was going to sneak her out of the hospital or else she’d rat him out as her kidnapping accomplice.
In an exam room on Monday’s Days episode, Nicole learned her arm was sprained instead of broken. Sarah also patched up EJ’s head, but she didn’t think he had a concussion.
In a moment alone, Nicole admitted to being scared at the church earlier.
EJ comforted Nicole right as Eric found them together, so that brought some awkwardness.
However, EJ made it clear that Nicole would be coming home with him to recover.
Afterward, Eric watched Nicole and EJ through the window – just before Rafe did the same.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Nicole and EJ’s bond will grow even stronger from here, so stay tuned to DOOL.
