There’s no denying that Nicole has feelings for Rafe, but we have to remember why those feelings developed in the first place.
It’s not that Nicole fell out of love with Eric. It’s just that Nicole felt neglected and shoved aside by her brand-new husband.
Soon after their wedding, Eric took off to do important work in Africa with Nicole’s blessing, but she never imagined he’d keep extending his trip.
Nicole’s perspective never seemed to matter, so she just kept getting lonelier and more frustrated by the day.
Rafe was already a good friend to Nicole and happened to be right there in Salem – unlike Eric who was on the other side of the world acting like Nicole didn’t exist.
Nicole ultimately lost control and cheated with Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer), but that was obviously a meaningless way to cope and never should’ve happened.
It’s Rafe who Nicole truly started to fall for, but can Rafe compete with Eric after his return?
Nicole and Eric are a long-term pairing with rich history, tons of chemistry and plenty of devoted fans.
Greg Vaughan is back at Days and will be sticking around for a while, so it’s safe to assume Eric and Nicole are going to reunite.
DOOL released a promo not too long ago that offered a glimpse of Nicole and Eric’s flying sparks.
It looks like Eric may have left the priesthood again, so that eliminates a reunion obstacle.
It should be easy for Eric and Nicole to reconnect – leaving Rafe out in the cold.
Nicole has proven she’s a serial cheater at this point, so she may continue the trend and hop back in bed with her ex.
It sounds awfully soapy for Nicole to break up her marriage by cheating, get with someone new and then cheat on him with the husband she divorced!
That could easily happen if Nicole sleeps with Eric and bursts Rafe’s happy little bubble.
