Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, December 22, reveals that Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) was glum over missing her family this Christmas, so she complained to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) just before Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) walked in the pub.
Although Kate thought Rex had to work in Chicago, he explained how he convinced his supervisor he had more important work to do in Salem.
Rex needed some bloodwork for follow-up FDA data – just to prove the treatment Kate received for her illness was safe.
Kate balked initially since she hadn’t had any setbacks, but Rex pushed her to help him out with the formality and ultimately took the blood vials to the lab.
Since it was the holidays, Rex pointed out there’d be a little delay on getting the results back – though he was confident everything would be fine.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) was rude to Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), so Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) told her daughter it was important to be nice to everyone at Christmas.
Rachel talked about being with her real family, but she wondered when she’d get her whole wish since Kristen and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) weren’t married yet.
After Rachel pointed out that Brady and Kristen didn’t even sleep in the same room, Chloe seemed pleased over the news.
While Rachel was nearby getting hot chocolate, Chloe rubbed in the fact that Brady was keeping his distance from Kristen.
Of course, Kristen acted like they were getting closer every day and gave Chloe a nudge to focus on Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash).
At the townhouse on Thursday’s DOOL episode, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) insisted they had to kidnap Rachel to get the orchid back.
Brady shut down the idea, but Eric pointed out that Rachel would never know and would just think she was on a fun vacation with Uncle Eric.
Eric was done being a victim and a doormat when it came to people like Kristen. It was time to show no mercy and play hardball as far as Eric was concerned.
Kristen came home with Rachel and interrupted, so she scolded Brady for standing them up for lunch.
Brady also got updates on Chloe and Stefan’s Miami trip for New Year’s Eve.
After Kristen offered a veiled threat about doing what was best for Brady’s family, she fueled his anger again.
In a private moment with Eric, Brady decided they had to use Rachel as leverage and agreed to the kidnapping plot to secure the orchid.
At the Hernandez house on Thursday’s Days episode, Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) came in wearing a Santa suit and had a sack of presents.
Arianna Horton (Lane Rosa) warned Li that she was too old to believe in Santa, but he won her over by giving her a double luck bracelet as a gift.
Once Ari hugged Li and admitted she was cool with having another daddy, she wondered if Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) would take Li’s last name.
Gabi eventually settled on being Gabriela Hernandez Shin after the wedding.
The topic of having children came up, so Gabi pointed out they’d never really talked about that before.
Since Gabi couldn’t have more kids, she seemed a bit uneasy over the discussion.
However, Li assured Gabi that being Ari’s stepdad was all he needed. Arianna later taste-tested a couple of cookie batches and declared Li the winner since his were better than Gabi’s.
At the DiMera mansion, Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) showed up looking for Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) since she wanted to check on him following the explosion ordeal.
Stefan answered the door and took this opportunity to criticize Wendy about her Jakarta jaunt.
It was reckless for Wendy to put her career on the line, so Stefan wondered if there was another reason for the trip besides young love.
Johnny appeared and helped Wendy handle the tricky conversation, so Stefan backed off.
After Wendy and Johnny were alone, they rehashed how difficult it was to keep Stefan’s brainwashing a secret – though they knew that they must.
Johnny suggested they could fake break up if Wendy wanted, but she acted like it’d be easier to just keep fake dating for now.
Wendy was touched when Johnny revealed her Christmas present – and there were some flying sparks as he helped her try on the new wrap for her wardrobe.
Back in the town square, Chloe was over the moon when Stefan offered an early holiday gift. Stefan handed over tickets for a New York show that had been sold out for months.
Stefan hoped to tag along and use the extra ticket, so Chloe was surprised he didn’t want to spend his first Christmas back from the dead with the DiMeras.
Nevertheless, Stefan convinced Chloe he wanted to spend the holiday in New York with her and her own family.
It was decided that Chloe and Stefan would travel to Miami from there.
Stefan and Chloe were making out when Gabi appeared with Li soon after.
Gabi acted like it was a shame that Stefan and Chloe would be out of town when the wedding happened, but she suggested they could look up pictures online.
