Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Thursday, January 6, teases that Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) will drop a bomb while EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) receives a special visitor. Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will also get a Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) shock, so here’s what DOOL has in store.
John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) will be thrilled when Johnny shows up at their door with exciting news.
Things were chaotic due to Marlena’s exorcism, so there was never a good time to reveal his new marriage to Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens).
Johnny will decide to pop in and share the shocker now, so Marlena and John will indeed be thrown for a loop.
However, Marlena and John are pretty much the most accepting grandparents around. They may offer a gentle warning or two about the challenges of marriage, but they’ll no doubt stay optimistic.
Johnny will be thankful for the support as he gets some hugs and reassurance about the future.
Since Marlena is trying to apologize to all the people she’s wronged, she’ll surely want to apologize to Johnny as well.
Marlena can’t recall much about what happened while she was possessed, but she’ll know she manipulated Johnny.
John has been filling Marlena in on some of her disturbing behavior, so the fact that she approved Johnny’s movie should come up.
Will Marlena encourage Johnny to press on with the film if that’s something he still wants to do?
We can’t forget that the devil has entered Johnny’s mind and body – though he’s not in charge every minute of the day yet.
The idea of the actual devil directing a possession movie seems quite soapy, so we’ll see how it goes. In the meantime, the devil will eventually gain more control of Johnny and hope for a total takeover sooner or later.
In the town square, Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) will continue to shower Chanel with gifts off the registries she created for her daughter and her new husband.
Paulina will go above and beyond to show she’s behind this marriage 100 percent, even if she still has concerns deep down.
Chanel will try to convince her mom to chill out with all the gift-giving, but Paulina will kick things up a notch instead.
At the DiMera mansion, Paulina will arrive looking for EJ. She may suggest a truce since they clashed the last time she was over at EJ’s house.
Paulina will think they need to come together and join their families for the sake of their kids.
Paulina will apparently want to throw a bash at the DiMera manse to celebrate Chanel and Johnny’s recent wedding.
EJ still won’t support this union, but he’ll at least agree to show up and hold the gathering in his home.
As for Xander and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller), they’ll brainstorm some ideas related to the search for Sarah.
Xander will offer updates on his discussion with Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder), who mentioned Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) having a Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) mask and posing as her.
That’ll be an interesting tidbit from Abigail’s perspective. Abigail will contemplate the idea that Kristen pretended to be Sarah as part of some scheme.
Xander apparently won’t connect the dots enough to realize Sarah’s on the DiMeras’ deserted island, but this story is far from over.
When Xander meets back up with Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), Days spoilers say her emotions will be all over the place.
Gwen will be ecstatic over patching things up with Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and deeply moved over Xander’s work in making that happen.
Gwen will also be terrified over Sarah potentially coming back in the picture and furious with Abigail since she’ll still believe the Sarah search is vengeful.
Of course, Gwen will have to bottle most of that up, but she’ll at least thank Xander for helping her with Jack and hope she never loses her amazing boyfriend.
Finally, Days spoilers say Jack and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) will wrap up their little farewell tour and head to Boston to save that struggling newspaper.
Thursday’s DOOL episode will mark Jennifer and Jack’s last airdate for now, but they’ve assured everyone this isn’t a permanent move.
