Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, May 26, reveals that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) settled on an ASAP wedding – and prison couldn’t stop Abe Carver’s (James Reynolds) love for Paulina Price (Jackée Harry). Here’s how all Thursday’s DOOL action played out.
At the Salem PD on Thursday’s Days episode, Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) informed Paulina that her bail had been denied again. Justin ranted about how hard Paulina had made his job and pointed out the inconsistencies in her statement, but she was counting on him to get her off the hook.
In Abe’s hospital room, he got a visit from Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) as they talked about their imminent releases. Eli also claimed that he cleared things up with Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) and tried to steer Abe away from thinking Lani was the shooter.
Later, Abe paid Paulina a visit in the interrogation room to profess his love and desire for a reunion. Paulina was moved, but she also acknowledged she could be headed to prison. However, that didn’t affect Abe’s feelings, so he smiled and pointed out that Paulina was stuck with him.
After Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) finally picked up the phone, she warned Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) that she didn’t want to talk to him and hung up.
Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) tried to offer Sarah some comforting words at the pub, but she wasn’t looking for a priest right now. When Eric revealed he wasn’t one anymore, he commiserated with Sarah over their issues and thought they were quite the pair.
Eric also thought Sarah still loved Xander and gave her a nudge toward forgiving him since she’d done it before.
In the town square on Thursday’s Days episode, Chanel Dupree Raven Bowens) was an emotional wreck over Paulina being in lockup. Lani nearly came clean about being responsible for TR Coates’ (William Christian) death, but Xander interrupted to get Sarah reunion help.
Xander pushed for Chanel’s advice since she was a woman and had talked him into marriage before. Chanel knew how to get what she wanted, but Xander couldn’t do that without threatening people – and he obviously didn’t want to threaten Sarah.
Nevertheless, Chanel didn’t think she should be giving out romantic guidance since she was in love with two twins and had her own drama going on. Although Chanel and Xander found some common ground in the heartbreak they’d faced, the best Chanel could do was tell Xander to hang in there.
Later, Xander was overjoyed when Sarah tracked him down and seemed eager to talk.
Over breakfast at home, Nicole and Rafe were ready to break their engagement news to Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander). Holly wasn’t surprised, especially since she’d already seen the ring on Nicole’s finger.
Holly confirmed she’d be the flower girl and felt there was no need to wait on the wedding, so Rafe backed her up. Nicole guessed Holly was right and suggested they’d get married as soon as possible.
In a moment alone with Nicole, Holly worried that her mom’s new marriage would make Eric sad. Nicole worked to reassure Holly that Eric would be happy for her and that she was happy for him too now that he was a priest again.
Afterward, Nicole found Eric at the pub to give him engagement updates, so he tried to cover how surprised he was as he congratulated her. Eric also admitted that he’d been removed from the priesthood and wouldn’t be returning to Africa, so Nicole got a shock of her own.
