Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, January 4 Recap – Jack & Jennifer Reveal Reason for Boston Move – Ava’s Violent Outburst

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, January 4, teases that Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) revealed the reason for their move to Boston while Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) had a violent outburst. Let’s talk about how all Tuesday’s DOOL drama played out.

At the Horton house, Jack assured Jennifer that their baby would be in good hands with their other baby.

Meanwhile, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) showed up at the Kiriakis mansion now that she was running The Spectator.

Abigail wanted to warn Maggie about their coverage of Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) disappearance, but she wound up getting a special request.

Maggie hoped Abigail and her resources at the newspaper could help her track down missing Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey).

After Abigail got updates on all the details of the case, she assured Maggie that she would do everything she could to find Sarah and would keep looking for Philip, too.

In their hotel suite, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) had a nightmare about Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) finding out she knew the truth about Sarah all along. Xander angrily warned Gwen that he wanted her out of that room today and vowed to go find Sarah.

After Gwen woke up in a panic, she hid what her nightmare was really about.

Xander comforted Gwen briefly before heading off to a meeting with Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). He left Gwen troubled since he wanted to hire Steve for a Sarah investigation.

At Basic Black on Tuesday’s Days episode, Nicole walked in and saw what was left of decapitated Duke the teddy bear on her desk. She was clearly alarmed over the stuffed animal crime scene!

At the Hernandez house, Ava muttered to herself about how long Nicole and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) had been making a fool out of her.

Rafe seemed curious about Ava’s tense demeanor, but she acted like she was overreacting to bad coffee and suggested New Year’s plans – potentially including Nicole.

Rafe wanted to spend some alone time with Ava, but Nicole summoned him to help with an emergency. Ava urged Rafe to go since it sounded important, so he ultimately took off.

Once Ava was alone, she smashed a mug in a fit of fury. Ava was ranting about Rafe and Nicole when Gwen showed up looking for support.

Gwen worried about the possibility that Xander would find Sarah with Steve’s help.

Ava admitted Steve was good, but she wondered what made Gwen so sure Xander would choose Sarah.

Ava thought maybe Gwen was selling herself short and didn’t feel like Sarah was all that special.

Ava added that if a guy was so stupid that he couldn’t see what he had, then “to hell with him.” Gwen wondered if they were talking about Rafe or Xander, so Ava said it was both.

At Steve and Kayla Johnson’s (Mary Beth Evans) place, they discussed whether Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was behind Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) murder frame job.

Kayla doubted it, but Steve thought maybe there was some move behind the move that they weren’t seeing.

When Jack and Jennifer arrived, they explained that a small local newspaper was about to go under in Boston.

Jennifer and Jack wanted to save it and explained their plans to do so.

They told Kayla and Steve how Abigail would be taking care of The Spectator while they carried out their new mission.

However, Jennifer and Jack argued that the move wasn’t permanent. They planned to come back once this old-fashioned little newspaper was on its feet again.

When Xander arrived to speak with Steve, he found out about Jack and Jennifer’s big move as well.

Xander guessed Gwen didn’t know and seemed a little irritated over Jack just leaving like this. “So what? Have a nice life?” Xander asked.

Jack assured Xander that he truly hoped things worked out for him, so they established that they indeed wanted each other to have nice lives.

Xander would never forget that Jack was his mate when he really needed one, so the guys patched things up.

After Jack left, Xander asked for Steve’s help finding Sarah and learned he was already busy with another case.

Xander tried putting John Black (Drake Hogestyn) to work on it, but John wasn’t accepting new cases right now since he was focused on Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall).

Xander decided he’d just have to find Sarah himself, but he later paid Maggie a visit and learned Abigail was also investigating.

Xander feared Abigail might not want to work with him, but Maggie felt confident Abigail would put any Gwen issues aside.

Back at the Horton house, Jennifer pushed Jack to say goodbye to his daughter.

Jack summoned Gwen, who rushed right over and was moved when Jack admitted he still loved her. He tried to stop, but he couldn’t.

Abigail walked in on Gwen’s warm embrace with Jack and commented on the “prodigal daughter” returning, but she promised she meant what she said about not getting in the way.

After Abigail mentioned working on the case of Sarah’s disappearance, Gwen looked rather panicked.

After Rafe joined Nicole at Basic Black, he found out Duke had been beheaded.

Nicole thought Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) obviously did it and figured it was payback for breaking up her marriage. She couldn’t imagine who else would hate her enough to do that.

Rafe was skeptical, especially since Sami just left town. However, Rafe agreed to look into it before Nicole pushed him to go be with Ava for the hospital.

Once Nicole was alone, she muttered about the new year being off to a “hell of a start.”

Rafe and Nicole separately had flashbacks of their steamy conference table session, but they tried to shake off all their sizzling thoughts.

As for Ava, she had a flashback of cutting Duke’s head off and thought it was the least those two deserved.

When Ava ran into Rafe in the town square, she feigned surprise over decapitated Duke being the emergency. Rafe fished to find out if Ava might know something about that.

Next on Tuesday’s Days episode, Kayla told Steve she was coming with him to find Kristen.

Steve tried to argue, but Kayla thought it’d be easier if Steve just accepted that she was tagging along. He finally did and called her “partner,” which Kayla liked the sound of.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Kayla and Steve’s adventure will bring plenty of fun, so stay tuned.
