Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Tuesday, September 20 Recap – Chad Sniffs Out Vanilla Killer Clue – Gwen Rats Leo Out

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 20, reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) sniffed out a vanilla killer clue while Gwen Rizczech’s (Emily O’Brien) SOS message ratted Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) out to Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering). Here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.

At the DiMera mansion, Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) started pacing and loosened his tie as EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) brought up Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus).

Since Stefan no longer loved Gabi, EJ questioned his brother’s hesitance in bringing her down.

Stefan wanted to hear the plan first, so EJ pointed out that Stefan should be able to get his shares back from Gabi – that is if he was willing to destroy her.

There was talk about how this could put the vote back to a tie, so they’d have to change someone’s votes or keep working to have Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) vote disqualified.

At the Horton house, Chad admitted to Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) that he wasn’t sure what to believe when it came to Leo’s guilt or innocence.

Afterward, Chad made his way to the DiMera mansion to retrieve Charlotte DiMera’s (Autumn Gendron) stuffed elephant.

That led to Chad finding Stefan in the living room with EJ and getting a shock.

Stefan explained how Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) kept him on ice all this time, but Chad was cold toward his brother and rejected Stefan’s attempt at a new beginning.

Stefan said he didn’t expect Chad and Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) to welcome him back with open arms, but Chad snapped that Abigail was dead and clarified that she’d been murdered.

After Stefan expressed his condolences, Chad took off to find Charlotte’s toy – leaving EJ and Stefan to resume their conversation about gaining control of Gabi’s shares.

Back at the Horton house on Tuesday’s Days episode, Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) was uncomfortable as Jack brought out a tray for ice cream sundae night. Since that was one of Abigail’s favorite traditions, Jennifer wasn’t sure she wanted to continue it.

Jack suggested getting the kids involved next time and sharing memories of when Abigail was a little girl.

Jennifer decided that’s what Abigail would want and knew her daughter wouldn’t want this ice cream to go to waste either, so she enjoyed some sundaes with Jack.

In a moment alone later, Jennifer seemed stressed as she popped a pill from her bottle.

In Gwen’s motel room, Leo insisted that Craig was a “spiteful sicko” who had gone off the deep end.

Gwen was skeptical, but Leo convinced her that Craig might really be Abigail’s killer and that he might’ve stabbed Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) to implicate him again when he was cleared.

Gwen claimed she was composing a text to Rafe about launching an investigation into Craig and then assured Leo he could hide out there.

In Rafe’s office on Tuesday’s Days episode, he got updates on Stefan’s survival and newfound disdain for Gabi.

Rafe also found out about Gabi’s engagement to Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) and tried to help her talk through everything since this was all so complicated.

Although Gabi had been ready to move on before Stefan resurfaced, she wasn’t sure she could just give up on him now.

Rafe pointed out that Stefan wasn’t giving Gabi much of a choice.

Afterward, Gabi sat in her office and gazed at Li’s ring – then at the one Stefan had given her.

While Gabi wondered how Stefan could forget what they meant to each other, Stefan walked through the door.

That led to Gabi pointing out that Stefan was still wearing his own wedding band, which he hadn’t noticed until now.

Gabi asked if maybe on some level, that meant that Stefan still loved her.

EJ interrupted after dropping the paperwork off at legal, so Stefan revealed he’d officially requested that Gabi’s inherited shares be given back to him.

At the pub, Craig told Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) that he came back to Salem because he’d heard the accusations about Leo.

Although Craig blamed himself for Leo’s deadly actions, Nancy and Clyde Weston (James Read) felt that Craig couldn’t have known what Leo would do.

After Craig met Clyde and learned about the engagement, he suggested a round of drinks.

Craig also talked about finding out about Leo’s revenge list from Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) and acted like Leo’s lingering feelings were the reason he didn’t target her along with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Craig then proposed the idea of a dinner out with Clyde, Nancy, Chloe and Brady – his treat.

While Nancy was off telling Chloe about her engagement news, Craig admitted he didn’t think Clyde was good enough for Nancy.

That left Clyde fuming since Craig was the one who deceived and hurt Nancy.

Craig didn’t want Nancy to get hurt again, but Clyde argued that was the last thing he’d ever do.

When Chad came along, he was surprised to see Craig back in town.

Clyde piped up to say he was still waiting on Chad’s apology since he was wrongfully accused of murder.

Clyde also mentioned his iron-clad alibi and how the police felt mighty foolish when they realized it was all a misunderstanding.

As for Craig, he offered his condolences on Abigail before hugging Chad. When Chad had a weird reaction, Craig wondered what was wrong.

Chad admitted he thought he smelled vanilla, which was the same thing Sonny smelled right before his stabbing.

However, it’s important to note that Clyde was standing nearby!

Back in Gwen’s motel room, Leo was stunned as Rafe burst in with his gun drawn.

Gwen revealed that she’d sent Rafe an SOS about a dangerous fugitive showing up on her doorstep.

Leo was upset over the betrayal, but Gwen felt that one good turn deserved another and stuck her tongue out.

As Rafe arrested Leo and dragged him off in handcuffs, Leo insisted that the real killer was Dr. Craig Wesley.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say more surprises are looming in Abigail’s murder mystery, so stay tuned to DOOL.
