Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 14, reveals that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) had a dream that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) realized he made a terrible mistake. Eric asked for Nicole’s forgiveness before she woke up alone in her bed at the DiMera mansion.
Downstairs, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) pointed out that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) kept missing his appointments to give his official statement.
EJ once again offered up a vague version of events about what happened with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) and urged Rafe to just let the dead stay dead.
Meanwhile, Ava lurked outside the window before joining a vision of Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) in the DiMera crypt.
After Ava informed Charlie that she wanted EJ to die, she also hinted about making others in town pay for their treatment of her.
Ava ultimately revealed a bomb that would be used at Susan Banks’ (Stacy Haiduk) memorial service and told Charlie that it was going to be a blast!
Back with Nicole, she let Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in her room to gather up some of Susan’s belongings for the memorial service.
Johnny apologized for going off on Nicole when he first found her there and admitted he wished things could’ve worked out in her marriage to Rafe.
Nicole acknowledged that Rafe was a good person, but she knew the same couldn’t be said for her.
However, Johnny thought back to when Nicole was his stepmom and offered some examples of when she was kind to him, so Nicole seemed touched over his memories.
Nicole was still wearing her robe when she interrupted Rafe’s conversation with EJ.
That led to EJ gloating about Nicole moving in, but Nicole explained she just needed a place to stay with Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander) until she could find somewhere more permanent.
At Jada Hunter’s (Elia Cantu) place, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) stopped by with some tea and got reassurance that Jada was feeling much better.
Jada was also glad that Eric was staying away since they didn’t owe each other anything.
When Nicole stopped by the pub later, she clashed with Nicole over Jada briefly. Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) was also concerned since Eric didn’t come home last night, but Kate thought Nicole was concerned for an entirely different reason.
Nicole rushed out of the pub without her coffee while Eric accepted a coffee cup from Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) in her bed.
As they enjoyed a few more rounds of passion on Wednesday’s Days episode, Eric talked about leaving the priesthood a couple times.
Eric also confessed that he wasn’t looking for a relationship, but Sloan insisted she wasn’t either since she didn’t really believe in living happily ever after.
It was decided that Sloan and Eric would be friends with benefits, so Eric said it’d been a long time since he’d had a real friend.
Eric suggested taking this party to the shower, so he was in a towel along with Sloan when Nicole arrived.
Sloan opened the door and was surprised to see Nicole, who looked inside and saw Eric all wet as well.
After catching up with Roman at the pub, Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) found Jada and headed to the police station with her.
Steve insisted this had to stay off the record before giving Jada and Rafe updates on EJ kidnapping Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams).
Once Steve explained how he’d rescued Tripp with Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans), he acknowledged that EJ’s part in the kidnapping was hearsay based on dead Ava’s story.
EJ’s henchman also wasn’t naming any names, but Rafe and Jada were all in on trying to bring EJ down.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Rafe checked on Jada’s health since she’d taken a medical leave following her abortion, but she wished everyone would stop treating her like she was so fragile.
Jada also found out about Nicole moving in with EJ, but Rafe said nothing Nicole did surprised him. As for EJ, Rafe once again made it clear that he’d like to make him pay.
At the DiMera mansion again on Wednesday’s Days episode, Johnny reassured EJ that the Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) brainwashing secret was safe. Johnny and Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) wouldn’t be the ones to spread the news.
Since Rafe was making accusations about the Ava situation, Johnny insisted that all he knew was EJ did everything he could to bring Susan home.
EJ just wanted to properly honor Susan and suggested maybe putting a plaque for her in the DiMera crypt. Although EJ wanted to go find a spot, Johnny didn’t think Susan would want a marker where the devil held her hostage.
That kept EJ out of the crypt and allowed Ava to plot her explosive revenge with Charlie, so a DOOL faceoff was avoided for now.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say there’s much more drama to come at Susan’s memorial service, so stay tuned.
