Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 21, reveals that Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) learned from Abe Carver (James Reynold) that her bail hearing wouldn’t happen until after the holidays and was upset about not spending Christmas with Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens.
Paulina stood her ground on releasing the statement about stepping down as governor, so Abe sent Chanel a heads-up text.
Chanel grumbled to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) about the whole situation, so Allie lifted her spirits by suggesting they should take Christmas Eve dinner to Paulina at the Salem PD.
However, Paulina got a shocking call from Belle Brady (Martha Madison) and showed up with Abe at Chanel and Allie’s apartment later.
It turns out Belle went to London, challenged the extradition and won, so all the charges against Paulina and Chanel were dismissed.
Paulina still wanted to step down as governor since Salem was her home and being governor meant moving to the capital.
Chanel, Allie, Paulina and Abe all shared a toast to celebrate their incredible news since the nightmare was finally over.
At Sloan Petersen’s (Jessica Serfaty) place, Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) woke up in her bed and talked about how he had rushed to the hospital to see if Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) was OK after the explosion.
Sloan felt that meant Eric had compassion and wound up venting about her vendetta against Paulina as well as Chanel.
Suddenly, Sloan got some troubling updates over the phone and had to rush off to deal with something.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Sloan barged in Allie and Chanel’s apartment.
After blasting Chanel and Pauline for celebrating when two people were dead, she vowed to make sure they still paid for what she did to her family.
At the townhouse, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) accepted breakfast in bed and brainstormed with John Black (Drake Hogestyn) about how to deal with all the Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) drama.
Although Marlena was concerned about Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) feelings for Kristen on Wednesday’s Days show, John didn’t like pretending to feud with Marlena and wanted to focus on enjoying the holidays.
Marlena and John ended up making love while Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) walked in on Kristen and Brady clashing over the life-saving orchid.
That led to Rachel’s orchid questions, but Brady and Kristen covered before their daughter shared her wish.
Rachel wanted her parents back together forever, but Brady concentrated on how they both wanted to put Rachel first and were doing what was best for her.
Even so, Kristen spoke to Rachel alone later and reminded her that they should never give up on their dreams.
Once Eric arrived for a visit, he assured Brady that he was serious about finding a way to deal with Kristen.
Now Eric had an idea on how to get the orchid back, so he surprised Brady by insisting that they had to kidnap his daughter!
At the DiMera mansion on Wednesday’s Days episode, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) brought Nicole breakfast in bed and acknowledged that she hadn’t slept well.
Nicole had a nightmare, so EJ assumed it involved Eric and knew it had upset her when he came to the hospital.
EJ distracted Nicole by playing Sister Mary Moira Banks’ (Stacy Haiduk) voicemail, which acted like the explosion was EJ’s fault for bringing that “harlot” Nicole into the picture.
Nicole and EJ shared a laugh about that before talk turned to EJ’s guilt over Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk).
Nevertheless, EJ ultimately put all that aside on Wednesday’s Days episode and shared a close moment with Nicole.
It seemed like Nicole and EJ started to realize their old spark was reigniting, but these DOOL exes shook it off.
Before EJ left Nicole’s room, he admitted he was happy she was there along with Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander) for Christmas.
The house needed brightening up, so EJ felt that Nicole was the one to do that.
