Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, December 7, reveals that Paulina (Jackée Harry) made a shocking decision while Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) went free. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) also received a surprise visitor, so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
In lockup, Eric had reservations about hiring Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) since Abe Carver (James Reynolds) was like an uncle to him – not to mention Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) was dating Eric’s niece, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold).
Sloan defended her decision to go after Chanel and Paulina by explaining the whole ugly affair story, which ended in her mother’s death. Eric had compassion for Sloan since both her parents were gone now.
Sloan also felt sorry for Eric after he talked about losing his chance to be a father and how the woman he loved went behind his back to play a role in that.
Once Sloan insisted she’d fight for Eric, he agreed to let her take his case.
Meanwhile, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) decided she’d represent Eric after all and was appalled when she learned he’d already hired Sloan.
Although EJ dropped the charges, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) got a call from DA Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) and learned she was going after Eric for assaulting a police officer.
Sloan quickly got Trask back on the phone and reminded the DA that she owed her for offering up two career-making cases.
Trask agreed to make the remaining charges go away, so Eric was free to leave and took Sloan out to breakfast as part of her payment.
Belle was worried about Eric’s downward spiral, but Shawn offered reassurance about her brother getting through this rough patch.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) got updates on Jada Hunter’s (Elia Cantu) abortion, Eric’s upset reaction and Nicole’s meddling.
Jada vented about Nicole before Rafe received a call about Eric’s recent legal woes and his night in lockup.
Although Jada was shocked over Eric getting drunk and turning violent,
Rafe noted that she hadn’t known Eric very long and suggested she dodged a bullet. In fact, Rafe had a feeling this was just the beginning of Saint Eric’s fall from grace!
At the DiMera mansion, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) found EJ in his robe with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), who was still in a T-shirt as they shared a close moment on the end of the bed.
Johnny lashed out over EJ sleeping with Rafe’s wife, but Nicole informed him that EJ simply gave her a place to stay since she was getting a divorce.
While Nicole was in the shower, Johnny assured EJ that he’d keep his mouth shut about Stefan DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) brainwashing along with Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace). Even so, Johnny wasn’t happy about it.
Later, Nicole tried to back out of moving in the DiMera mansion with Holly Jonas (Elin Alexander), but EJ convinced her it was the best thing for her family right now.
After Nicole left for work, EJ looked at Susan Banks’ (Stacy Haiduk) framed photo and heard someone at the door.
When EJ answered it, he was stunned by a visitor he recognized – though DOOL viewers didn’t see their face just yet.
It turns out Sister Mary Moira Banks (Stacy Haiduk) has decided to pay EJ a surprise visit, so be sure to stay tuned!
In the town square on Wednesday’s Days episode, Nicole spotted Eric eating breakfast with Sloan and was glad to see him out of jail.
Eric snapped that it was thanks to his lawyer, so Sloan shook Nicole’s hand and ran down the list of last names Nicole had used for her many marriages.
Like Sloan, Nicole’s reputation preceded her.
At the Salem PD again, Abe and Chanel joined Paulina in the interrogation room.
Once Abe got a phone call, he explained that the city council was asking him to resign as mayor – effective immediately.
Chanel was upset over both Abe and Paulina landing in so much trouble because of her, so she rushed out.
Once Chanel made it back home, Johnny showed up looking for Wendy and sensed Chanel was upset.
Chanel hugged Johnny and filled him in on all the arrest drama. Johnny eventually mentioned Susan’s death, so Chanel gave him some comfort, too.
Back with Paulina, she didn’t see any reason why Abe should bow out when her governor dreams had probably been dashed.
Abe seemed tempted to resign anyway, but Paulina snatched the phone from him and made it clear that he wouldn’t be stepping down.
Paulina told the city council president that her own scandal wouldn’t be an issue since she hadn’t been sworn in as governor – and she’d decided she never would be!
