Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Wednesday, January 19 Recap – Maggie Grills ‘Sarah’ – Kristen Knocks Out Steve

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, January 19, reveals that Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) grilled “Sarah Horton” (Linsey Godfrey) about her disappearance while Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) knocked out Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). Here’s how all Wednesday’s DOOL drama went down.

At the convent, Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) covered when Mother Superior (Ellen Crawford) caught her snooping, but she kept tripping herself up.

Kayla acted like she was looking for a Bible, but Mother Superior pointed out there was one right there on the desk.

Kayla mentioned something about her husband telling her she needed glasses, so Mother Superior was thrown by the “husband” comment.

However, Kayla acted like she took her role as the bride of Christ very seriously.

Kayla suggested that she opened up about everything in prayer, but Mother Superior wondered how “Sister Mary Elizabeth” would read her Bible if she needed glasses that badly.

After Kayla claimed she wanted it as a comforting presence, she managed to pass a brief scripture test.

Mother Superior finally gave “Sister Mary Elizabeth” the Bible and thanked her for the reminder to lock the drawer she’d been rummaging around in.

In Steve’s hotel suite, Kristen acted like she knew he was there because Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) hired him to find her.

Steve insisted that’s not what happened – though he admitted Xander tried to hire him to find Sarah.

Steve wondered if by finding Sarah, that might lead to Kristen somehow. Kristen argued that she had no reason to want to make Sarah disappear.

Kristen wanted answers about who paid Steve to come after her, so he admitted it was Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Steve pushed to find out if Kristen was the one who framed Brady for Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) disappearance.

Kristen argued that she’d never want to send Brady to prison and denied killing Philip. She also couldn’t let Steve go now that he knew her location.

Steve thought Kristen could just hide at a new convent if she was that concerned.

Steve acted like Kristen could restrain him with some zip ties he brought and went to retrieve them from the drawer.

Kristen was already a step ahead of Steve and revealed the gun he was actually going for.

Now armed with two guns in her hands, Kristen suggested it was time for her easy fix.

Later, Kristen pretended to be Steve as she texted Kayla back through his phone. She sent a message to “Sweetness” while wearing Steve’s eyepatch – and Steve could be seen unconscious on the floor.

At the pub, Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) and Xander Cook Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) struggled to get a straight answer from Ned Grainger (Chris Kalhoon) the DiMera pilot.

Ned finally admitted that Sarah indeed paid him to take her somewhere and had plenty of money to do it.

Ned refused to say anything more since he was paid to be discreet, but he added that he could be paid to be indiscreet, too. If Abigail and Xander wanted to know where he took Sarah, they’d have to cough up some cash.

Abigail refused to pay a source out of journalistic integrity, but Xander decided he knew where to get the money and dashed off to ask a favor from Maggie.

In the meantime, Ned said he was going to stretch his legs and perhaps find a new watch to spend his imminent payment on.

In Gwen’s hotel suite, she reeled over “Sarah’s” arrival until Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) peeled off the mask and revealed it was a trick.

After Ava explained how and why Kristen sent her the mask, she thought this could be the answer to Gwen’s prayers.

Gwen was uncertain about donning the mask herself and fooling Xander with it.

Nevertheless, Ava thought that Gwen could convince Xander that Sarah wanted nothing to do with him and that would make him stop looking for her.

After Gwen put the mask on, Ava made sure the voice-changer in the back was working. “Sarah” marveled over sounding just like the real Sarah, but she was worried she wouldn’t be able to pull this off.

Ava decided that maybe Gwen just needed to take the mask for a test run before she tried it on Xander.

That led Gwen to the Kiriakis mansion, where she reunited with Maggie while wearing the Sarah mask.

Maggie was overjoyed as she embraced “Sarah” and admitted she’d been worried sick.

Maggie pointed out that Sarah’s number was disconnected and didn’t understand why her daughter hadn’t been in touch.

“Sarah” acted like she had to tell all those lies because of Xander, who didn’t believe her when she called off the engagement.

Maggie reminded “Sarah” that she called off the wedding at the last second and was surprised over “Sarah” resorting to all this.

Maggie wondered if “Sarah” was really that desperate to get away from Xander.

“Sarah” didn’t want to get into it on Wednesday’s Days episode, but she insisted that if she never saw Xander again, it would be too soon!

Suddenly, Xander came in and was stunned at the sight of “Sarah” on the sofa.

At Basic Black on Wednesday’s Days episode, Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) caught Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) trying to move the conference table.

Nicole admitted it reminded her of something that shouldn’t have happened and wondered why Rafe was there now.

Rafe mentioned the complaints against him at the Salem PD and his suspicions that Ava might’ve been behind them.

Rafe mentioned confronting Ava about decapitated Duke the teddy bear as well.

Nicole didn’t think it made sense for Ava to be the culprit, but Rafe wondered if maybe she knew what they did on that conference table!

Rafe asked about any unusual behavior, so Nicole admitted Ava gave her a weird, unsettling smile in the town square – like she knew something.

When Ava arrived, she acted like it was great that she found Nicole and Rafe together.

Ava insisted that the dinner she’d been trying to plan for all of them was happening – or else they’d incur the wrath of Ava Vitali!

Ava was tired of all the moping and thought they should have some fun.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say Ava’s revenge scheme could come with a few more twists, so stay tuned.
