Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, June 1, reveals that Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) followed Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) path to a perfect family – Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) wanted to set a rushed wedding date. Here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
At the Salem PD on Wednesday’s Days episode, Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) brought little Bo Weston (Cody and Warren Kraslow) by Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) office and asked him to be the boy’s godfather.
Rafe also found out from Ciara that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was no longer a priest, so that news threw him off a bit. Afterward, Rafe gave Ciara updates on his engagement to Nicole and acted like Eric wouldn’t be a factor – though he actually seemed on edge.
In the town square, Eric filled Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall), John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) in on his removal from the priesthood. They all thought it was unfair, but Eric downplayed everything and assured Marlena that she wasn’t to blame.
At Shawn Brady’s (Brandon Beemer) place, Jan remained on house arrest and was taken aback when Ben arrived. Ben mentioned his name and said he was looking for Shawn, so Jan realized this was about her babysitting request.
After Jan relayed how she wanted a practice run with little Bo, Ben was firmly against the idea. Jan explained she wouldn’t be alone with the baby and whined about not getting a second chance like Ben.
However, Ben pointed out that he did a lot of hard work in therapy with Marlena to get better. That led to Jan hoping she could get therapy with Marlena as well.
Jan wanted the perfect family with Shawn – just like the one Ben had with Ciara and Baby Bo. Although Ben knew it wasn’t really his place to get involved, he explained how the circumstances were different and doubted Jan was going to get her happy ending with Shawn.
Ben provided Marlena’s cell phone number, so Jan called and convinced her to come over. Since John didn’t want Marlena dealing with Jan alone, he insisted on going with her.
Back at the Salem PD, Shawn learned Belle wanted a legal separation and wondered if EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) played a role in this. Belle argued that Jan was the only reason why this was happening, so Shawn signed the document in frustration.
Since Nicole needed a copy of the divorce papers EJ filed for her, she stopped by the DiMera mansion and filled him in. EJ found out about Nicole’s engagement to Rafe along with the news about Eric being kicked out of the priesthood.
Although EJ assumed Nicole’s answer would’ve been different if she’d been in the loop on Eric, she denied that. Nicole learned EJ had been spending a lot of time with Belle, so she questioned him chasing after a happily married woman.
EJ then clarified that he was simply friends with Belle – though her marriage wasn’t exactly a happy one these days. Belle arrived right as Nicole decided maybe EJ should just go for it then.
Once Nicole took off, EJ learned Belle wanted him to file her legal separation papers. After EJ asked Belle to stay for dinner, she decided that wasn’t the best idea right now.
Back with Shawn, he ranted about Ciara choosing Rafe as Bo’s godfather over him since he was such a mess. Shawn then backed off and realized he was just taking his frustration out on Ciara.
After Shawn confessed to blowing up his life and marriage, he brought Ciara up to speed on Jan’s babysitting pitch. Ciara shut it down fast and urged Shawn not to let Jan screw up his relationship with Belle.
Once Ciara met back up with Ben, they were on the same page about keeping Jan away from their son. Ciara was more concerned about what Jan was doing to Shawn and Belle’s marriage at this point.
Jan was surprised when John showed up along with Marlena, but she made her therapy proposal just the same. Marlena wouldn’t commit to helping Jan yet, but she didn’t reject the idea either.
Shawn was also on hand to dismiss the notion of marriage counseling since Belle wanted a legal separation, so Jan was pleased.
When Nicole crossed paths with Eric and Brady in the town square, that led to an awkward chat about her engagement.
Once Brady was alone with Eric, he fished to find out how his brother really felt. Eric acted like he was no longer interested in Nicole romantically, but Brady hinted about Eric lying to himself.
As for Nicole, she made her way to Rafe’s office and addressed the fact that they hadn’t set a wedding date yet. Since Rafe and Nicole agreed to do it soon, Nicole suggested next week.
