Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, June 22, reveals that Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) pushed a wedding pact of silence to save Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers), who decided to face the music anyway. Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) also made a matchmaker mess, so here’s how all the Days drama went down.
At the wedding reception on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) kept trying to keep the truth under wraps.
Lani insisted that she shot TR Coates (William Christian) and recapped the story to explain why it wasn’t justified self-defense.
Julie thought TR got what he deserved – no matter who shot him. When Lani suggested she was going to turn herself in at the police station, Julie shut down the idea.
Instead, Julie argued that Lani had only confessed in front of her friends and family. At Julie’s urging, all the guests raised their hands to make a pact of silence regarding this secret.
Although Lani appreciated the support, she was an officer of the law and was choosing to do the right thing for herself.
Eli ultimately took Lani to the Salem PD, where she wrote out her confession and prepared to sign it.
Despite Eli’s warnings about Lani’s punishment and what this could do to their family, she felt it was time to face what she’d done.
Eli got the greenlight from Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to take Lani back to booking, so she signed her confession and prepared to face the music.
Eli held Lani close as they tackled this difficult challenge together.
After the wedding party broke up, Olivia Price (Marla Gibbs) admitted she was proud of Paulina for trying to protect Lani.
Paulina felt her plan didn’t work out and was sorry for leaving Abe Carver (James Reynolds) in the dark, but he explained how he already suspected Lani shot TR. Abe assumed Lani told Eli the truth and that her husband covered for her.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Kate spoke to Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) about what would happen to Lani and suggested ways she could get off the hook.
Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) also landed in an awkward situation thanks to Kate, who pointed out Nicole agreed to marry Rafe without knowing about Eric’s defrocking.
Nicole protested that she loved Rafe and acted like Eric didn’t want her back anyway.
That led to Kate urging Eric to admit his true feelings, but he shut down the conversation.
Roman didn’t get why Kate was being so pushy, but she felt it was obvious that Eric should be with Nicole.
Outside, Eric tried to address the awkwardness with Nicole, which somehow only made things more awkward!
At Lani and Eli’s apartment, Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson) helped Julie babysit the twins as they discussed Lani’s terrible situation and Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) sad death.
Next, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) brought home the rest of Abe and Paulina’s wedding cake for them.
Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) insisted on tagging along to help, but he kept trying to remind Chanel of their wedding night and time in Italy together.
That earned an eye roll from Allie, who bickered with Johnny once Chanel left to be with Lani.
Johnny acted like the best twin would win Chanel’s heart, but Allie argued that she wasn’t going to turn this into some juvenile competition.
Back at the Salem PD, Lani was surprised when Abe, Paulina, Olivia, Chanel and Theo all showed up to rally around her.
There were some sweet family moments as Lani prepared for an uncertain future.
