Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 23, reveals that Grandpa Clyde Weston (James Read) moved in with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) while Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) betrayal disgusted Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash). Here’s how all Wednesday’s Days action went down.
At home, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) admitted to Belle Brady (Martha Madison) that she was seemingly the one who posed as EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerrigel) for the kiss with Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) – though Shawn really blamed the devil.
Belle beat herself up over infuriating Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and felt responsible for sending EJ to prison.
Belle decided to pay EJ a visit and hoped to make things right.
After Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) convinced Chad that framing the devil was the answer, he moved forward with the plan to set Belle up.
Chad headed to Shawn and Belle’s place, where he got Shawn’s permission to wait and talk to Belle once she came back.
It was part of the ruse that Chad and Kate were collaborating on.
Kate called Shawn and sent him off to get a copy of Philip Kiriakis’ (Jay Kenneth Johnson) police report for her private investigation, so that gave Chad some time alone.
Chad then uploaded the paper trail on Belle’s computer so it’d look like the file to frame EJ was created there.
Afterward, Chad gave Kate the flash drive so that she could destroy it. Kate felt confident that Belle would discover the proof on her laptop and confess.
It would just be something else Belle assumed she did while under the devil’s control.
At Statesville on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, EJ pushed Clyde to admit he was to blame for his “death.”
Clyde acknowledged his role in it – though he also felt that Miguel had gotten trigger happy.
EJ ranted about how Clyde had cost him everything, but Clyde didn’t think it was a big deal since EJ was still alive.
He apologized and thought that should be enough, but EJ threatened to ruin Clyde’s upcoming parole hearing.
Clyde warned that if EJ did that, he’d be thrown back in a cell with EJ – and he wouldn’t be in a good mood.
After Clyde made it clear that EJ needed to leave this in the past, he took off.
That left EJ looking furious and muttering about it was still in the present for him.
Belle eventually showed up to take responsibility for the kiss situation that Chad had blamed EJ for.
EJ didn’t have high hopes about Belle’s appeal plan, but she intended to move forward with it anyway.
EJ also wondered about all those times Belle had been there for him.
Ej was confused since Belle had supposedly been possessed since Christmas, but Belle insisted she was herself for those supportive moments and remembered them.
At DiMera Enterprises, Gabi found herself feeling powerless to resist the devil’s temptation.
Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) pushed Gabi to go after what she wanted, so they stripped down for lovemaking – just in time for Jake’s arrival.
Jake explained how he never betrayed Gabi and blamed possessed Belle instead.
Johnny confirmed that Belle had indeed been possessed and took off – leaving Gabi to try to fix her relationship.
Gabi knew she should’ve trusted Jake and hoped there was still a chance for them.
Unfortunately, Jake didn’t know what kind of future they could have, even if he did forgive Gabi.
Jake felt Gabi was quick to betray him and snapped about her getting what she wanted.
Jake acknowledged that Gabi was the CEO of DiMera Enterprises and ultimately walked out on her.
In the town square, Ben and Ciara were surprised to find Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) and Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) kissing.
They all moved past the shocker quickly and discussed the gender reveal cake the parents-to-be wanted.
After admitting the devil already opened the envelope containing the sonogram and gender confirmation, Ciara and Ben handed it over.
Chanel and Allie were thrilled to make the cake for the reveal party.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Allie looked at the envelope and found out the gender, but she suggested maybe she should leave Chanel out of the loop.
That led to Chanel playfully trying to grab the envelope while Allie kept it away from her.
When Johnny walked up, he mocked Allie and Chanel for making the sweetest couple.
However, Johnny saw the gender reveal envelope and flashed back to when he learned the baby’s gender.
Johnny decided he had more important things to contend with and took off.
Once Ciara and Ben were back home, they shared some lovey-dovey moments before someone showed up at the door.
Ben opened it to find Clyde and worried his dad had escaped, but Clyde insisted his freedom was legit this time.
Clyde clarified that he was a genuine parolee – just as long as he lived under the same roof with someone responsible.
Clyde figured the parents of his imminent grandchild would be the perfect fit and asked if the baby was a boy or girl.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Clyde will cause chaos now that he’s a free man, so stick with DOOL.
