Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, March 8, teases that Belle Brady’s (Martha Madison) red coat had the devil’s mark – and Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) escape from police custody shocked Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams). Let’s talk about how all the Days drama went down.
At home on Wednesday’s DOOL episode, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) sulked on the sofa until Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) showed up to comfort her.
Chanel found out Allie wasn’t able to get through to Tripp, so the engagement was off.
Since Allie was there for Chanel after she got dumped, Chanel wanted to make Allie’s pain go away, too.
Chanel reached for Allie’s hand and leaned in for a kiss, but Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) arrival ruined the moment.
After Chanel took off, Nicole mentioned Rafe Hernandez’s (Galen Gering) case being in the hands of the jury.
Allie brought Nicole up to speed on her split from Tripp and how badly she screwed up. She didn’t see any way to score another chance with Tripp now.
At the hospital, Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) stunned Tripp by revealing that Ava had escaped from police custody with the help of someone posing as her lawyer.
Tripp hadn’t heard from Ava and was eager to get some answers from his mom as well.
Next, Tripp ran into Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal), who was there to pick up some prenatal vitamins.
Ciara tried to console Tripp over the breakup news, but he suggested he was just one of those guys that women get with until something better comes along.
Although Ciara said that wasn’t true, Tripp pointed out that Ciara ended up with Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and now Allie had betrayed him with Chanel.
However, Ciara assured Tripp of their friendship and did her best to be there for him.
Chanel showed up to see Tripp afterward, which led to some clashing.
Although Chanel felt that walking away from Allie would be a big mistake, Tripp thought Allie made her choice and never wanted to see her again.
At the DiMera mansion, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) made it crystal clear to Belle that he wasn’t going to help EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) get out of prison.
Belle still thought Chad was holding back info that could help the case, but Chad wanted her to focus on her role as DiMera’s legal counsel and help him reclaim the CEO spot.
Upstairs, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) denied being the devil and distracted Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) with talk about her lineage.
Susan told some wild stories before suspecting that Johnny was trying to get her off track.
However, Johnny acted like Susan’s psychic powers were awfully strong.
Johnny suggested Susan would surely know if her own grandson were the devil himself, so Susan decided that Johnny was right.
Later, Susan hugged Johnny near the door and felt the devil’s presence under that very roof. Johnny pulled off a little misdirection by putting “666” on the back of Belle’s red coat, so Susan got the wrong idea.
At the apartment on Wednesday’s Days episode, Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) explained all the evidence and convinced Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) that Johnny might be possessed.
Jake shared his own experience and backed up the idea of Johnny potentially having the devil in him.
Ciara showed up and found out about Jake’s split from Gabi, so she mentioned Tripp and Allie’s broken engagement.
It seemed to Ciara that the devil enjoyed breaking up couples around town.
When Belle arrived at the police station, Shawn noticed what seemed to be ash on the back of her coat and brushed it off.
Meanwhile, Susan returned to tell Ben and Ciara that the devil was inside Belle – though they looked at her like she was crazy!
Back at the DiMera mansion, Chad found Johnny gloating over his plans moving forward and wondered what those plans might be.
Chad insisted Johnny was playing with the big boys now and took off, but Johnny wasn’t scared and muttered about the fun just getting started.
