Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, November 9, reveals that Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) faced a terrifying night in jail after Belle Brady (Martha Madison) derailed DA Melinda Trask’s (Tina Huang) interrogation. Here’s how all the DOOL drama played out.
At the pub on Wednesday’s Days episode, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) ran into Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty), who gloated about getting the file back thanks to Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart). Chad frantically tried to call Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) once he realized the blackmail drama was blowing up.
Meanwhile, Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) sat down with Stephanie for dinner at the bistro and mentioned something about their date before catching himself. Although Alex didn’t want to come on too strong and be presumptuous, Stephanie suggested she was indeed open to dating.
Stephanie silenced all alerts on her phone when she realized Chad was calling, so Chad tracked her down in person soon after. That left Stephanie freaking out over the PR crisis when she learned Chanel had just been arrested.
Nearby, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) bickered with Leo and tried to figure out his angle when it came to this night out together. Leo admitted being lonely “sucked” and had a vulnerable moment where he sought Sonny’s friendship since he didn’t have even one gay male friend in town.
However, Alex found out Leo somehow helped Sloan and confronted him for being a rat. Leo truly didn’t understand what happened, but he eventually figured out Sloan must’ve scored the file while he was counting the money from the safe.
Leo seemed bummed over people thinking the worst of him, but he assured Sonny that he wasn’t working for Sloan and hadn’t created Chanel’s jam on purpose. As for Stephanie, she had to cut her date with Alex short, but she said they’d do it again sometime.
In the town square, reporters clamored for a statement from Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) as Chanel panicked. Paulina insisted this was a mistake and a travesty before Abe Carver (James Reynolds) whisked her back to her office to hide out.
That’s where Paulina came clean about Sloan blackmailing her on behalf of a mysterious client. Paulina was apologetic for keeping Abe out of the loop up to now, but Abe just wanted to help and got updates on the whole story offscreen.
At the police station, DA Trask was downright gleeful over Paulina’s first scandal since she hated her for strong-arming her back when Lani Price-Grant (Sal Stowers) needed a plea deal.
After Chanel was rushed through booking and had her mugshot taken, Trask questioned her in the interrogation room. Fortunately, Belle realized Chanel was in trouble and came to her rescue, so she shut down the interrogation and assured Chanel she wasn’t alone.
Since it was too late for Chanel’s arraignment, that also meant it was too late for a bail hearing. Chanel would have to spend the night in lockup, so Trask ordered Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) to take her away in handcuffs.
Allie spoke to Paulina over the phone before turning her attention to Chanel. Although Allie didn’t know what was going on, she wanted Chanel to know she was there for her.
Allie hugged Chanel before Trask complained about the inappropriate touching of her prisoner. Once Chanel was led to lockup on Wednesday’s Days episode, Allie wound up sobbing in Belle’s arms.
Back with Sloan, she showed up at Paulina’s office to rub in her victory. Sloan suggested it would’ve been so much easier to just pay what she asked and acted like Paulina would have to face the consequences now.
