Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 5, reveals that Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) cure roadblock frustrated Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder) and John Black (Drake Hogestyn) while Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) refused to help Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). Here’s how all the DOOL action played out.
In Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) hotel suite, Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) brought Rachel Black (Finley Rose Slater) in and sat her down for the tea party that room service provided.
Unfortunately, Rachel threw a crumpet at Chloe and refused to participate since she was the reason Rachel couldn’t visit Kristen.
Rachel then handed over a note from her lunchbox, which said it was Chloe’s fault that she couldn’t see her mommy.
After Rachel announced that she hated Chloe and ran to the bathroom, Brady apologized to Chloe since Kristen was still blowing things up behind the scenes.
Chloe thought they just needed to accept that Rachel hated her now, but Brady reassured her about figuring things out.
At the hospital, Kristen visited a weak Marlena and mentioned details about her illness.
Marlena wondered how Kristen was privy to those, but Kristen claimed she overheard some nurses and left Dr. Rolf out of this for now.
Kristen wanted to ask Marlena for a favor and suggested it wasn’t a good idea to cut Rachel off from her mother entirely.
Since Brady would listen to Marlena, Kristen wanted her to talk to him.
However, Marlena insisted that Brady had full custody and would make any decisions regarding Rachel.
Kristen wished Marlena good luck with the cure and taunted her by suggesting it’d be a shame if she died.
Meanwhile, Rex advised John to cancel his flight to the Amazon jungle since the orchid needed for the cure was now extinct.
John and Rex decided that their best bet was to find Dr. Rolf since he never threw cures or anything else important away.
Since they had no idea where Dr. Rolf was, John suggested they should get in touch with Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) since Rolf recently brought him back from the dead.
As Kristen eavesdropped, Rex called Stefan for help and insisted it was a matter of life and death.
Once Rex and John made it to Dr. Rolf’s lab, they explained their extinct orchid dilemma.
John and Rex hoped for access to an orchid or the cure from 25 years ago, but Dr. Rolf didn’t think he could help them.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Kristen smiled to herself as she watered the last remaining orchid of its kind, which she’d acquired thanks to Dr. Rolf.
Outside the pub, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) wanted to apologize for accusing Craig Wesley (Kevin Spirtas) of murder, so he convinced Craig to join him for a beer inside.
That led to a conversation where Craig admitted he still had feelings for Leo, but he wasn’t interested in being a sugar daddy.
Craig also felt that he needed to find middle ground between the safety of Nancy Miller (Patrika Darbo) and Leo, who was like a guy dancing on the edge of a cliff.
However, Craig picked up the check and parted ways with Leo on good terms as he headed back to New York.
In the town square on Wednesday’s Days episode, Mike Horton (Roark Critchlow) was cold to Nancy since she was Craig’s partner in crime in the past.
Mike wondered if maybe Nancy was working with Clyde Weston (James Read) too, but Nancy insisted she was just a fool who didn’t listen to the chorus of warnings.
After Nancy assured Mike that she’d paid for her mistakes, she talked about the pain of her split from Craig and how she felt like her life was a lie since he came out as gay.
That said, Nancy found a way past the anger and only wanted Craig to be happy now.
Nancy found out Mike had a new job in New York and that he was leaving this afternoon, so she suggested she could show him around and mentioned knowing the best bulgogi places.
Mike loved bulgogi, so he urged Nancy to put her number in his phone and said they’d make a date.
Once Nancy arrived at Chloe’s suite with a belated birthday present, she got updates on the problems Kristen was still causing.
Nancy didn’t like the idea of going back to New York when Chloe still needed her, but Chloe convinced her mom that there was nothing she could do except worry – and Chloe didn’t want that.
In the end, Nancy decided she would indeed return to New York.
Although Nancy wanted Chloe to visit, she teased that Chloe had better call first since she might have plans.
Both John and Brady got the news of Kristen’s visit to Marlena, so they weren’t happy about it.
Marlena assured Brady that she refused to help Kristen regarding Rachel visitation, but she also felt that Kristen wanted to see for herself that she was knocking at death’s door.
At the Horton house on Wednesday’s Days episode, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) assumed he would go with Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) as she began rehab, but she wanted to go on her own for now.
They wouldn’t get to see each other much during the early stages of Jennifer’s treatment anyway.
Besides, Jennifer felt that Jack needed to stick around for Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien).
Once Mike showed up, Jennifer said a tearful goodbye to Jack, but he assured her this was actually a “see you soon.”
There were some emotional moments as Jennifer left for her rehab program with Mike, so that brought both their DOOL exits.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Jennifer will be back down the road, so stay tuned!
