Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Wednesday, September 14, reveals that Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) dumped Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) over his Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) one-night stand and the damage he did. Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) also arrested Orpheus (George DelHoyo), so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
In their hotel suite, Sarah enjoyed married life with Xander in bed – that is until she wondered who else claimed Xander’s heart while she was on the island.
Xander flashed back to sleeping with Nicole and eventually admitted he had a one-night stand with her.
Sarah flew into a rage, but her anger got worse after she learned Xander blew up Nicole and Eric Brady’s (Greg Vaughan) anniversary party for the $1 million Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) offered.
Xander kept trying to make excuses, but Sarah couldn’t believe she was married to a man who destroyed someone else’s marriage for money.
After Sarah got dressed, she ranted about how Xander shouldn’t have told Eric and humiliated him.
“And I shouldn’t have married you!” Sarah declared before storming out.
At Eric’s place, he agreed to meet Nicole downstairs after he put some clothes on.
Nicole took the opportunity to fill Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) in over the phone, so she admitted she lied to Rafe about a job offer for Eric.
Now Nicole was determined to make that lie the truth, but Eric overheard that part and wondered what she meant.
Nicole covered and made a pitch for Eric to be a new photographer at Basic Black, so he said he was just thinking of going back to photography.
However, Eric was worried about how Rafe would feel about them working together.
Nicole insisted Rafe was fine with it before a shaky and upset Sarah appeared. Sarah apologized on behalf of her new husband for all the anniversary party destruction that Xander caused.
Although Sarah felt like Nicole and Eric would still be married if it weren’t for Xander, they took responsibility for the problems in their relationship.
In the end, Nicole and Eric hoped they’d learned from their mistakes.
Afterward, Sarah returned to Xander’s suite and revealed that she’d apologized to Eric along with Nicole.
Xander was relieved to see Sarah since he thought she was leaving him. Sarah confirmed that she was and added that she just came back to pack.
As far as Sarah was concerned, anything Xander said or did was going to make this worse.
“It’s over, Xander,” Sarah insisted on Wednesday’s Days episode. “Nothing you say or do can change that.”
Back with Nicole, she suggested to Eric that people were better off not getting married in Salem.
Eric asked if that’s what they did wrong, but then he told Nicole she didn’t have to answer.
As for the job offer, Eric decided he would take it and said they had a deal. There were some flying sparks as Nicole took Eric’s hand to shake on it.
At the hospital, Orpheus’ video message confirmed that the infected ladies would get a lot sicker, but they weren’t contagious.
The goal was for Roman Brady (Josh Taylor), John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) to watch the women they loved die.
Orpheus wanted them to feel how he felt when his beloved Rebecca was taken from him. After Orpheus clarified that there was no cure and that the prognosis was certain death, he disconnected.
John and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) joined Roman, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), Steve and Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) in the same room.
That brought a strategy session since Kayla felt they had to act like Orpheus lied and try to find a cure anyway.
Marlena felt that Orpheus had underestimated them, but she grew tired and had to rest soon after.
John sat by Marlena’s bedside and said a desperate prayer for her.
Roman blamed himself for this nightmare, but Kate pointed out that he saved her from Orpheus once and would save her again.
Steve sent Orpheus’ video to the ISA as well as Rafe before Kayla mentioned finding Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton).
After Kayla nearly passed out again, she refused to hand off the case and said she’d rest when she was dead.
Steve assured Kayla that he wasn’t going to let that happen.
At the Salem PD, Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) realized Nicole was lying to Rafe about Eric’s job offer, but she let Rafe believe she just wasn’t clear on the situation.
Next on Wednesday’s Days episode, Rafe got the forensic report and realized a particular type of ink was found on the rope used to tie up the hostages.
Since Orpheus always left clues, Rafe did some digging and realized Rebecca Printing and Graphics used that same ink.
Since Rebecca was the name of Orpheus’ late wife, Rafe and Jada headed to that location.
Once Jada and Rafe burst in, they got Orpheus to drop his weapon.
Rafe placed Orpheus under arrest for the kidnapping and attempted murder of Marlena Evans.
Orpheus gleefully pointed out that Rafe said that like he failed, but he felt the commissioner would soon see how wrong he was.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Orpheus has more tricks up his sleeve, so stay tuned to DOOL!
