Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap review for the week of December 12-16 reveals that Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) may need to rethink his love life. DOOL viewers know Xander is scheming like crazy to keep Sarah Cook (Linsey Godfrey) in the dark on his horrible crimes, but he just keeps making things worse!
Gwen came to Xander’s rescue again by knocking Bonnie Kiriakis (Judi Evans) out and punching Xander to bruise his face.
That helped Xander pretend he was being held captive along with Bonnie, who bought Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) act once Gwen roped him into the plan.
Leo played the part of Bonnie’s kidnapper clown while Xander became the hero of the story.
Of course, the fact that Xander’s now accepting accolades will come back to haunt him.
Days spoilers say Sarah will be absolutely livid once the depth of Xander’s deception is revealed – especially since he’s relied on Gwen every step of the way.
However, Xander and Sarah’s inevitable relationship blowup could be a blessing in disguise.
When Xander looks back on all this down the road, he may see that Gwen was perhaps his best love match all along.
Days fans could argue that Gwen is a bad influence on Xander, but she didn’t force him into the original kidnapping plot.
Gwen has only tried to clean up Xander’s mess in the aftermath – even if she’s making a bigger one instead of fixing it.
Xander can have someone who embraces all his flaws and doesn’t judge him for his mistakes.
Gwen is that woman for Xander, so maybe it’s not such a bad thing that Xander and Sarah are headed for Splitsville!
As for John Black (Drake Hogestyn), it was fun to see him take on a more manipulative role with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).
John put on quite an act about his argument with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and his defense of Kristen.
Since John laid it on thick and highlighted some positive memories from his past with Kristen, he caught her by surprise.
That doesn’t mean John’s plan to pry the truth out of Kristen will work, but it was entertaining to watch him try anyway.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) will make some updates to his tactics soon, so his Days storyline with Kristen is about to swing in a new direction.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say there’ll be some terrible news regarding the missing orchid eventually, so that’ll be a game-changer as well.
