Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap review for the week of December 5-9 reveals that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) was a trainwreck while Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) was stuck on a lonely island in the friendship department. EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) also had a security problem, so here’s how all the DOOL drama went down.
It’s wild to think how quickly Eric’s life has become a total trainwreck, so let’s talk about that.
Although Eric and Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) have an intriguing vibe, it’s tough to feel sorry for Eric when he’s behaving like a petulant child.
After Sloan opened up about losing both her parents, jailed Eric tried to act like he understood based on what happened with Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu).
That’s not the same thing at all, so Eric just seemed like a whiny loser who wanted Sloan to have sympathy, too.
Sloan was also rude to Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) for no real reason, but Eric seemed to have no problem with that.
All Eric wants to do is blame Nicole for an abortion decision that was Jada’s alone, so Nicole is honestly better off without Eric if he’s just going to mope and act all judgmental.
As Nicole pointed out, EJ is practically a saint right now compared to Eric.
It’s been nice to see EJ be so compassionate and welcoming, even if there’s some awkwardness at the DiMera mansion.
Sister Mary Moira Banks (Stacy Haiduk) arrived to shake things up, but we want to discuss EJ’s security problem for a moment.
How on earth can Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) just walk in the living room undetected and plot deadly destruction?!
You’d think EJ might want to beef up security considering Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) was chloroformed and dragged out of the house – particularly since Susan ended up presumed dead.
Gabi was also stuck on a lonely island without any friends to turn to.
Since Gabi had to ask Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) to be her maid of honor, it highlighted a persistent lack-of-friends issue on Days.
Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) didn’t have any true friends either, so he previously had to ask Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to be his best man.
This is a common tale when it comes to marriage ceremonies on Days.
Romances and family connections are the priority, so there are rarely any friends for the wedding party when the situation arises.
It’d be good if the show could develop a few more friendships and have characters feel like they have pals in their corner.
That said, it worked out this time around since Gabi managed to add to Wendy’s guilt over the Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) brainwashing secret.
