Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers preview for the week of January 3-7 teases that Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) will launch a cake attack on cheating Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) while Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) declares Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) her soulmate.
DOOL’s weekly promo kicks off with Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) looking pleased with himself on the throne at DiMera Enterprises.
Chad is now the sole CEO of the company thanks to the scheme he pulled off with Lucas, so he’ll be quite happy about that as he welcomes the new year.
Days spoilers say Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will become privy to Chad’s secret and start encouraging his worst impulses.
Even so, Chad will battle some guilt down the road. He’s a good guy at heart, so setting EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) up is going to weigh on him.
In the meantime, Ava will plot against Rafe and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). Nicole will discover beheaded Duke the teddy bear and guess Sami might be to blame.
Rafe will suspect Ava might’ve had something to do with it instead, but she’ll play dumb and even act offended by the accusations.
Ava will then lie about seeing a blonde at Basic Black who might’ve been Sami. She’ll go along with Nicole’s false assumption and talk Rafe out of checking the security footage of the office.
Rafe will apologize and hug Ava, so none of this really lines up with the cake-smashing we see in the latest promo.
It could be a situation where Ava simply imagines hurling this cake in Rafe’s face – only to snap back to reality, plaster on a smile and suggest they should go enjoy their cake at home.
Regardless, Ava has plans that are far more diabolical than dessert, so don’t miss what’s in store.
As for Lucas, he’ll be worried about getting his heart broken again. Sami will declare that Lucas is her soulmate and always has been, but Lucas may argue that her behavior suggests otherwise!
EJ has been Sami’s entire world for years, so it’s hard to buy this soulmate declaration she’s selling.
Lucas will wonder if Sami really wants him or if she’s just going to go running back to EJ like she always does.
When Sami kisses Lucas passionately in response, he’ll admit that was a really good answer.
Sami and Lucas will leave for Europe together, but he’ll still be keeping his role in her kidnapping under wraps.
Lucas’ secret is bound to blow up down the road, but he’ll get his reunion and the promise of a new “Lumi” chapter for now.
DOOL’s weekly preview video includes some lingering New Year’s Eve party fun as well as another bash that happens after the holidays.
It looks like Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) will throw a belated wedding reception for Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel DiMera (Raven Bowens) – one that’s a catastrophe in the making!
