Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap review for the week of October 3-7 reveals that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stomped all over Abigail DiMera’s (Marci Miller) memory while EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) was a devious delight.
We get that Days doesn’t usually let DOOL characters grieve very long for lost loves. The show must go on – and that’s perfectly fine.
Still, it was jarring to have Chad turn off his grief for Abigail like a light switch.
Abigail recently appeared to Chad in a cemetery vision and encouraged him to let her go, but did he have to do it that fast?
Chad sure took Abigail’s words to heart since he was kissing Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) in no time at all!
It was just weird for Chad to go from acting like he could never love anyone else to openly flirting with Stephanie two seconds later.
Chad and Abigail were a major Days couple for many years, so this is kind of a slap in the face to “Chabby” fans.
It feels like Chad is stomping all over Abigail’s memory in a way, so it would’ve been nicer to see Chad and Stephanie ease into this new love story.
However, we love the direction EJ’s character is headed in lately.
For a while, EJ was just sort of an angry grumbler who drank in the corner. Now we’re seeing flashes of the old manipulative EJ that’s so fun to watch.
Having Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) as a likeminded ally for EJ has been an excellent choice.
It seems like Stefan is bringing out the best in EJ – at least if you like that devious side of him that we know so well!
EJ was downright giddy as he presented Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) with the marriage license that proved she was lying.
The frame and gift box were nice touches that leaned into EJ as a flashy schemer – the kind who takes great pride in his work.
EJ had a team of handwriting experts expose Jake DiMera’s (Brandon Barash) signature as a forgery, so he gained the upper hand in a way that would’ve made Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) proud.
On another note, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is finally showing some solid growth as a character.
After getting mowed down, Gwen’s forgiveness of Jennifer Deveraux (Cady McClain) brought some surprisingly touching scenes and common ground between former foes.
What are you loving in Salem right now? What do you think could be improved?
