In tonight’s DDWTD episode, the family is in Myrtle Beach. They have been at their rental condo at the beach for a week. They plan to go check out a piece of beach front property for their pavilion. Before they go, Karen asks Deon to go on a date later. She has something to speak to him about.
The family arrives at Atlantic Beach. They share with the kids history about the area when it comes to segregation and the famous people who have performed. They also share their plan to build there and welcome all.
Later, the family arrives at Karen’s mom’s house to see aunts and other extended family. Karen shares with the ladies in the kitchen how she wants to move back home and she plans to talk with Deon on their date. Karen’s mm makes a joke about more kids on the way. Karen doesn’t share that she is 2 months along.
The family heads to the boardwalk. On the way there Karen feels sick. They all go on the sky wheel. One of the kids presses the red button. It stops the ride. GG wonders what the heck she is doing on a sky wheel at her age.
The next day, Deon and Karen head out on their date. The grandmothers stay back and babysit. The kids work on a dance to perform at their parent’s upcoming birthday party. The kids start to create their song.
Karen and Deon sit at an oceanfront restaurant. They discuss their business plans when Karen brings up that she wants to move to South Carolina permanently. Deon is surprised. They were having a good moment.
Deon isn’t so sure about moving to South Carolina. He feels blindsided. They talk about it more. He tells her they cannot move. Later, they separate. Deon goes to the beach with the boys. Karen stays with the older girls. They do her make-up and talk about possibly moving. Her girls do not seem on board. She thinks she may have to rethink this all. Her whole family needs to be on board.
Deon sits the kids down and they discuss how the family will sit and meet with the city council to share their business proposal. He shares with them how to shake hands, break the ice and more. The kids make jokes but do learn a few things.
Deon is that the beach telling Eric about Karen wanting to move. Eric shares that he loves them all but he doesn’t want to move. Deon doesn’t know what to do. Later, the family head to the city council meeting to present their idea. The kids help present. The council is very impressed. They will meet on it again and decide.
The family all meet for their special birthday party. Everyone is dressed up and having fun. Eric meets a young woman. He dances with her. The kids all giggle. The kids all then perform their special song. They do great. Karen and Deon love that family from South Carolina and Detroit are there. Karen and Deon talk and make-up over moving. They both plan to come to an agreement and meet half way. They talk about the great time they have been having.
