In tonight’s FBI International episode, Special Agent Forrester hasn’t always had it easy what with his traitor of a mother. His mother was literally a traitor. She sold information on the Americans to the Russians and then disappeared. It was assumed that she went to Russia to hide out.
Forrester was sixteen when everything went down and it did scar him. He was never the same again after his mother’s actions were revealed. But he still met with her after she contacted him while he was overseas. Forrester led the international arm of the FBI unit. He was man with authority and power now. He thought he could handle the visit and it of course went south very quickly. His mother denied all wrongdoing. She claimed to be still working to the CIA.
Forrester didn’t fall for it. He told her to get around to whatever she wants instead of wasting his time by saying she was proud of him and so that’s when she revealed what she actually wants from him. She wants a file. The file was labelled “Hutchinson”. It was located at the nearby American office and she couldn’t get it because she’s still a wanted woman. She wanted Forrester to get the file. But he shot that down. He wasn’t going to help a known traitor. Forrester went back to his office where his team was waiting for him. They noticed quite early on that something was wrong. He was acting out. He was brusque with everyone.
Even the dog noticed it. The others asked Kellet about it and she confessed that they broke up. She claimed it was mutual when it wasn’t. She also said they’ve both moved on when she knows darn well that Forrester would take her back in a heartbeat. Yet, the team didn’t need to worry about Forrester because it wasn’t long before they caught a case. They were brought in after a wanted American murdered a German in Frankfurt, Germany. The killer was identified by a surveillance camera that caught the murder and it was Michael Vestal. He was the founder as well as CEO of an anti-virus software.
Vestal was in charge right up until it was suspected he murdered his business partner. He fled before he could be charged and he was trialed in absentia. Since then, Vestal has maintained an online presence that he uses to target the American justice system. He claims he was framed. He even did so again after he killed his neighbor and it was caught on camera. He took to social media to claim that Americans were stalking him. He posted photos of both Forrester and Kellet. Which could ruin their undercover work in the future and so Forrester said they should just keep their head down and make the case.
Something they tried to do. It was just that it was harder what with their faces out there and a conspiracy theorist now has everyone believing they were out to kill him. Forrester and his team tried pursuing the guy. They were met with resistance every step of the way. Vestal had apparently handed out hundreds in euros to anyone who was willing to stop the guys “stalking” him. Vestal had also built up a presence in Germany. He had friends everywhere thanks to his money. Some of them had even fought Forrester. They grabbed him at a club. He was fighting them four on one when Kellet showed up with her gun and evened out the numbers.
There was also another guy that tried to hide Vestal. Vestal invested two million dollars in his startup, so the guy thought he owed Vestal favors like hiding him from the police. It didn’t dawn on them that the German police also wanted to arrest him for murder. Vestal’s conspiracy theorists fans were there and they even protested outside of the precinct after they learned one of Vestal’s friends was arrested for helping him. They tried to set up a sting to capture Vestal using this supposed friend but it got ruined by his fans during one of their more violent protests. And so it was Kellet who realized how to capture Vestal.
Kellet remembered a book that Vestal was reading. It was Madame Bovary. It was about a neighbor who seduces the married woman next door and they later found a key hidden in Vestal’s home that unlocks the door to the neighbor’s home. The same guy that he killed. Everyone thought he killed his neighbor because the guy found out he was a wanted criminal. Instead it happened over a woman. The local police tracked down the wife as she was trying to cross the border and hidden inside of her trunk there was Vestal. He was arrested. His arrest was posted on social media by the local police who hadn’t appreciated the protests his little stunt caused.
But Forrester decided to do something smart. He got the Hutchinson file or he made the motions as if he was going to get it and then he reported to the authorities that he was in contact with his mother. They set up a sting. They watched him as he was supposed to meet with his mother and that’s where things ended tonight.
There’s no telling if she showed or not.
THE END!
