In tonights FBI International episode, an American was murdered in Budapest. The man was identified as Kenneth Gregory. Gregory was the senior aide to Attorney General of the United States and he was in Europe because he was following his boss. His boss Rebecca Blair was coming to town. Its why she sent her people ahead.

They were supposed to clear the way for her and instead someone killed Gregory. They pushed him off of a bridge. They also kept his cell phone. The same cell phone used to coordinate Blair’s schedule and so right away the belief was that the Attorney General was in danger. Her security team had said that maybe Gregory committed suicide or he had too much to drink.

But Forrester and his team were able to prove that Gregory wasn’t alone when he died. He went over the side of that bridge and the woman with him had never reported it. She just simply walked away. Forrester was in talks about the important matters of the case.

He had to stay back at the office and so it was Kellet who ran point. Kellet also had to deal with Blair. Blair was warned to cancel her trip to Hungary and she ignored it. She came anyways. She said her mission was too important to delay. It seems that this “mission” was even more than Blair’s life. Kellet later asked Blair about it.

Blair said the last person in her job had ruined American goodwill abroad. She was therefore traveling to help repair the damage and to show their allies that America was still a player in the game. But Kellet didn’t believe her.

He didn’t think an American cabinet member’s life should be put at risk for some good PR. She kept digging and she asked her Europol friend to do the same. Together they found out that the Americans were in town to negotiate a prisoner release. The Americans were looking for an American that was hiding out in a Hungarian prison. His name is John Mallory.

Mallory was a civil analysts for the Department of Defense. He helped compile a list of allies in Afghanistan that needed to be moved to safeguard from the Taliban and somehow that list got into the Taliban’s hands. The Taliban went on to hunt those people down. Mallory took a classified report proving what happened. The Americans then put out a warrant for his arrest. So, Mallory ran off to Hungary to seek asylum. He was put in prison while the Hungarians and the Americans worked out a plan amongst themselves. Somehow the woman on the bridge must have learned about the incident and she wanted nothing more than to prove what happened.

Gregory wasn’t just picked at random. He had to have been tracked from each city he was traveling in. Kellet and the team checked the hotel where Gregory was staying in. They showed around the picture of their suspect and the waiter recognized her. He said that she visited the hotel several times. He also remembers that she was staying at a nearby Airbnb. The team followed up this lead and they were able to identify their killer. Her name’s Mia Sahar. Sahar was a former mercenary whose fiancé was murdered in Afghanistan after the Taliban learned he was helping the Americans. And so Sahar was out for revenge.

Sahar wanted to avenge her fiancé’s death. If she couldn’t save Mallory for being deported, the truth about what happen would never get out and so Sahar started plotting. She stalked Gregory. She waited until he was drinking alone to drug him. She then used the opportunity to get him on the bridge where she ultimately killed him. But here’s the thing. Gregory had helped her. Sahar had written to the Americans after her fiancé was killed for help and Gregory read those letters. He felt so bad for her that he met up with her. He told her what really happened. He thought it would give her closure and it actually helped her formulate a plan.

Sahar then killed Gregory as a means of getting Blair’s security information. She was going to use it to kill Blair and stop Mallory from being deported. But Kellet and the team later caught up to her as she tried to make a play on Blair’s life. Kellet hadn’t agreed with what Blair was doing to Mallory but Forrester had reminded her that it wasn’t their job to judge Blair. It was their job to keep her safe. Kellet said as much when Blair asked her for her opinion on Mallory. Kellet didn’t agree to what was happening and she thought whistleblowers deserve better only she did her job and she got Blair safely back on a plane to America.

As for what happened to Mallory, that wasn’t the team’s problem and so they didn’t ask questions.

THE END!
