In tonight’s FBI Most Wanted episode, the fugitive task force wasn’t the same without LaCroix. They were still operational. But now there were constant power struggles over who was in charge. The FBI hadn’t officially named anyone to replace LaCroix yet. The team was still waiting on word from them on who was in charge and in the meantime they did the job. They were given a new case.

A married couple had gone on a killing spree. They killed a couple who stole from them. These other couples were Lupe and Victor. They were migrant workers on the murderous couple’s pot farm. They saw how much Will and Marianne Conways were making. They got jealous. They were especially jealous of the fact that one couple got to keep their child while they themselves had lived apart from their children.

This was why they stole the money. They wanted to use it to get back to their kids and they tried escaping in a van, but Will and Marianne followed them in their car and they later ran Victor and Lupe off the road. It created a car fire. One that burnt up the money they stole. Will got angry and so he killed the second couple and then he killed the people in the back of their truck. They were left without a car when they crashed into the van. They tried to make it back to their property on foot and by the time they did they had run across the FBI. The FBI had gone to the house. They found the couple’s daughter with the nanny.

The nanny was the one who alerted the police to the missing couple because they failed to come back for their daughter that night. Something they’ve never done before. The nanny had been concerned and that’s how the bodies were found. It tracked back to the couple. The couple saw the FBI’s presence. They realized they couldn’t collect their daughter and so they settled on collecting their savings policy. They went to their cellar on the property. They found FBI Agents already inside and so Will shot at them to buy his wife enough time to empty the safe. Will accidentally caused a fire with all those bullets. And so it was imperative they escape as soon as possible.

But the couple also locked the cellar after they left. They left behind Gaines and Hannah in the burning building and it was a miracle they were able to escape. So, that was attempted murder of federal agents now on the record but they made out and they went on to look into the couple. The couple had stolen seeds from their safe. The seeds were being tested and it turned out to be marijuana. They were in a legalized state only they couldn’t get a license. They had an illegal pot farm. Or they did before they set fire to it. The pot farm was also tied to some money laundering that Hana later learned was connected to the Russian mob.

The pot farm was merely an escape. The real business was money laundering and the couple had been helping the Russian mob with this. Then they got robbed. It wasn’t their money. It was the mob’s money. The mob were going to want it back and so the couple decided to get out of dodge while they could. They planned on returning for their daughter once the heat died down. But then their daughter was kidnapped. She was staying with her nanny when some Russians came by and kidnapped her. The FBI was alerted to what happened. Even Rachel’s parents were alerted as well. They received a text on their burner phone that said “we have your daughter”.

They automatically assumed this message came from Marianne’s father. Her father was a Russian mafia and he used to call the shots. They did the money laundering for him. Or so they thought. Marianne and Will gave up on escaping once they heard about their daughter and they went to get their daughter back from Marianne’s father, but the father wasn’t calling the shots anymore. He gave up leadership. He passed it on to Marianne’s sister Laura. Laura was the one who kidnapped Rachel. Their father told Marianne this. Marianne went after her sister and their dad also told the FBI this when they came to his restaurant to ask him about the missing little girl.

The FBI tracked down Laura. She was meeting with Marianne and Will. Laura planned on double-crossing her sister and keeping the little girl that Marianne tried to hide from the family, but that’s when the FBI showed up. They killed Laura and Laura’s men. They also killed Will. Only the feds, Marianne, and her daughter walked away from the shootout. Marianne was promptly arrested afterward. And there’s no telling what’s going to happen to her daughter now.

Barnes later took maternity leave and just as she did so she learned that LaCroix’s seat has been filled.

THE END!
