In tonight’s Fire County Bode still dreams of the car accident with his sister, Riley. Riley died in that car accident. Her death haunts him. He blames himself for her death. It also didn’t help that his own father blamed him as well. Vince told Bode to leave town and never come back, but he’s back now. He’s back. He’s trying to do better and the Inmate Fire Program might very well be the thing to save him. It’s just that not everyone is happy to see him back. His father for one was still angry with him. Vince thinks Bode being away was the best for him. He also thought Bode should be punished for punching a guy while going through a work program.

Vince was under the impression that Bode only punched Jake because he was jealous. Bode and Jake were best friends for most of their lives. They were like brothers and then Bode got mixed up with drugs. He went to prison while Jake became a firefighter. He’s been like a son to Vince. Vince and Sharon both considered Jake’s family. They had no idea that he was dating their daughter Riley before she died. Or that he cheated on Riley. It’s why she was so upset last night. It’s also why she tried to open her door while her brother was driving and he was reaching for her to make sure she didn’t hurt herself. And that’s how Bode lost control of the vehicle that night.

They got into a car accident. His sister died. But none of it would have happened without Jake. Jake’s girlfriend knew the truth. Bode told Eve and so now she knows the truth. It was just Vince and Sharon who didn’t know. Sharon has been seeing a lot of Bode since he’s been back. She’s been visiting him. She talks to him. She hasn’t told him yet that she has kidney disease or that it’s going to kill her. She instead keeps it light. She talks to Bode about what will happen once he serves his sentence and how he’ll move back to Edgewater to be with his family. Sharon remains optimistic. Her family members are less so.

Bode knew his father hadn’t come to visit him with his mother because he wasn’t forgiven. Vince blames Bode for Riley’s death and there’s nothing Bode could do to change his mind. Except Manny said something. Manny told Bode that he could run and hide or he could be the man that both he and his mother knew he could be. Manny sees something good in Bode. Both men respected each other. They’ve also talked about things that Bode doesn’t normally open up about. Bode told Manny what his father told him after Riley died. Manny also told him that one mistake didn’t have to hold him back forever. Words that came back to bite him. Manny took the convicts to fire on Mayhem mountain. And the firefighters ran into some trouble.

There was a fire on Maynor Mountain. It was also known as Mayhem Mountain. It was given that nickname because a lot of hippies go up that mountain and so the firefighters knew they were walking in trouble before they went up. But they did so anyways because they found out someone was injured. Some teens came out of the fire and on fire. They doused him. They saved his life. The kid then told him that his friend was trapped up on the mountain. Vince and Jake quickly traveled up the mountain looking for the lost teenager. They eventually found him in a pit. The kid had come across some weed on the mountain and had tried to steal it. And he fell into a trap.

Vince and Jake were trying to figure out how to get the kid out when the pot farmer showed up. His name is Mojave. Mojave was an illegal pot grower and he set traps around his farm to keep people from stealing from him. He was also anti-cop. He was so anti-authority that he took the firefighters hostage when he and his men found them. The men had already gotten the chance to call in the distress call and so Bode heard that his father was taken, hostage. He then convinced Manny to let him go up the mountain after his dad. Bode knew Mojave. They were friends. They were drug buddies. Bode knew he could convince Mojave to give up the hostages.

It took a while. There was the traveling up the mountain, Bode taking off his mask to show Mojave it was him, and then convincing Mojave that there was a future for him after prison. But Bode was able to convince Mojave to let them go. It helped that there was a fire raging around them and neither Mojave nor his men wanted to die. They turned themselves over. Everyone drove in a van off the mountain and they were on fire a bit, but that was quickly taken care of and no one was seriously injured from the fire. And Bode was able to prove himself to his dad that he wasn’t always the screw-up.

But when they were on the mountain, Vince heard Bode say that he at least owns his mistakes to Jake. Vince didn’t ask Jake about it. He finally visited Bode and Bode told him the truth. Bode told him that Jake broke Riley’s heart on the night she died. Bode also said that he was tired of being the scapegoat in the family. He wasn’t planning on coming back to the town once he finished his sentence.

And after Manny let Bode go up the mountain, Sharon warned him to not go rogue again.

THE END!
