General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will face a surprise picnic crasher, so their day in the park will go wrong. Let’s talk about Maxie and Austin’s romantic outing, which won’t turn out to be so romantic after all!
For starters, we should point out that this park picnic will be happening on the Fourth of July in Port Charles.
Of course, that won’t line up with the holiday in real life. Due to the latest preemptions, this messy picnic should play out on July 8 or even the week of July 11-15.
That brings us to Maxie and Austin’s attempt to enjoy some special time together.
Unfortunately, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will become a third wheel and no doubt kill the mood.
It’s possible Britt will invite herself, but it seems more likely that Maxie will take pity on her.
Maxie may feel sorry for Britt since she doesn’t have someone to go on her own romantic picnic with – at least not yet.
Regardless, Britt will end up tagging along, which could annoy Austin since this won’t be what he had in mind.
Austin had a blast with Maxie on their camping trip, so he was surely looking forward to some additional outdoor time alone.
Even so, Austin likes Britt well enough and can tolerate her for the evening.
As luck would have it, Britt won’t be the only one who pops up who doesn’t really belong.
Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) will inadvertently crash this little gathering, so he could invite himself to join the fun.
Spinelli thinks Maxie would be better off with someone besides Austin, so he might enjoy the chance to derail their picnic even further.
As for Britt, Spinelli will hope that Zelda Telesco (Kristin Casey) truly handled her following the whole skydiver and pool fiasco.
Perhaps Spinelli will fish to find out if Britt still bears any ill will toward Society Setups.
Spinelli will continue to exhibit suspicious behavior, so Maxie may pump him for info and wonder what the heck’s going on.
Maxie might also point out that she’s not a fan of secrets, but we can’t forget that Austin is keeping some of those, too.
The mystery person from Pautuck could easily follow Austin to Port Charles.
There’s the potential for someone to watch this picnic from afar – just like in the woods before that confrontation with Austin.
Bottom line, Maxie and Austin’s Fourth of July picnic will take some wrong turns due to a third wheel, an unexpected arrival and a potential spy!
