General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) may marry Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) to stop his deportation. It could allow Ava to get revenge on Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) after their divorce and his cheating exposure.
Let’s think about the puzzle pieces that GH writers are offering.
We’ve got Nikolas’ forbidden tryst with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) – a secret just waiting to come out and blow up his reunion with Ava.
We’ve also got Nikolas’ bizarre plan to divorce Ava and remarry her for a fresh start. That seems a little extreme, doesn’t it?
Why wouldn’t the vow renewal Nikolas and Ava previously planned on be enough?
This screams plot point so that Ava can be single and marry someone else.
That brings us to Laura Collins’ (Genie Francis) shocking new plan, which she hinted at in the June 20 episode.
Laura told Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) that she thought she could get Victor deported – that way, he’d be out of Nikolas and Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) orbit.
Although Laura would love to take Victor down for Luke Spencer’s (Anthony Geary) murder, she’d at least like to kick him out of the country for starters.
Laura can’t prove Victor is behind Luke’s death, but she can set things in motion for Victor to be sent out of the U.S.
This could pump the brakes on Victor’s top-secret project that he’s always making ominous comments about.
Victor has strong motives to want to stay in the U.S. by any means necessary.
Ava was worried that some insurmountable challenge would pop up and prevent her remarriage to Nikolas.
Since they’ve faced so much turmoil already, Ava argued that there was no guarantee they’d tie a new knot if they untied this one.
It seems likely that Ava will divorce Nikolas, find out about his hookup with Esme and dump him.
Then, Ava can strike a deal to marry Victor and keep him in the country.
This deportation angle is happening out of nowhere, so it may be another plot-driven story element to pour salt in Nikolas’ wound.
After Nikolas loses Ava, he’ll probably have to watch her get hitched to Victor instead.
Since Ava has a habit of falling for Cassadines after marrying them, a real love story could bloom for Ava and Victor eventually.
