General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) may have to kill Dex (Evan Hofer) to save Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Will Brando prove he has what it takes to be the next Jason Morgan (Steve Burton)?
Of course, no one could ever truly replace Jason, but GH writers still need someone to step up and fill that sort of role.
It can’t be Dex since he’s working for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to take down Sonny, so Brando remains the most likely option.
That’s especially true since Brando has consistently found ways to impress Sonny. Brando came riding to the rescue without hesitation when those robbers showed up at Charlie’s Pub.
Then, Brando picked up on Dex’s strange vibe and alerted Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) out of concern for Michael.
When Sonny talks about taking initiative, Brando is clearly doing it the right way.
Plus, Sonny trusts Brando, who’s acting far more like a son than Michael these days.
The show has really been playing up Brando and Sonny’s bond, so this has to be building somewhere.
However, the next step in Brando’s Jason transformation may involve a shocking death.
Jason was someone who never hesitated to pull the trigger if it meant staying loyal to Sonny and protecting the Corinthos clan.
Now it may be Brando’s turn to pull a gun on Dex and prove his loyalty to Sonny.
Brando may have no choice but to kill Dex if a risky situation arises – one where Sonny lands in grave danger.
It’s easy to imagine Dex going too far in his takedown efforts since crossing the line has already become a problem with this guy.
Michael talked about how Sonny could “get around to dying” after he crushed him, but he obviously meant a figurative death.
What happens if Dex goes overboard and nearly causes a real one?
Dex could ultimately aim his weapon at Sonny, especially since Sonny already made a deadly threat against him.
Perhaps Dex will want to kill Sonny before he ends up dead himself, but Brando may refuse to let that happen.
This could turn into a dramatic moment where Brando kills Dex to save Sonny’s life and prevent Michael’s scheme from killing his own father.
Bottom line, this Dex drama is a disaster waiting to happen – and Michael has made ominous comments involving death.
There’s a good chance Dex will try to murder Sonny, which could lead to his own demise at protective Brando’s hands.
