General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) baby hint could mean a pregnancy storyline looms, but who’s the dad? Let’s talk about Britt’s chance at motherhood and a possible pairing that could lead to it.
On the February 23 episode, Britt and Austin Gatlin Holt (Roger Howarth) took some time to talk about Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) death.
Although Peter was Britt’s half-brother, she admitted she mostly felt relief knowing Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) “demented bloodline” would die with him.
That led to Austin realizing Britt didn’t plan to have children of her own.
Britt insisted kids wouldn’t be part of her future, but Austin shrugged that you never know.
Although Britt reiterated that she was pretty sure, maybe she was protesting too much!
Soaps have a habit of letting characters say one thing and do the opposite sometimes.
It’s like when Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) acted like nothing romantic would ever happen with Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) – only to end up kissing him at the hospital.
The same goes for situations like the cops insisting Peter could never escape and then having him cause a massive manhunt after he does just that.
In other words, Britt nixing the kid plan could actually predict a pregnancy storyline instead.
Of course, we’re not suggesting that Britt is already pregnant!
The last time Britt hooked up with anyone as far as fans know was Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) – and that was too many months ago.
However, just because Britt didn’t get pregnant by Jason then doesn’t mean she won’t get pregnant by someone else in the future.
Austin might be a good father candidate since he has excellent chemistry with Britt and has longed for family acceptance.
It’s easy to imagine Britt and Austin falling into bed together at some point.
GH might finally ditch the idea of Austin and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) becoming a couple since they’re a flop of a pairing – at least in plenty of viewers’ eyes.
We should acknowledge the real reason Britt doesn’t plan to have children – and that’s because she supposedly has the genetic marker for Huntington’s disease.
Britt definitely has a bleak outlook when it comes to the road ahead.
Nevertheless, Britt’s hint could also set up the revelation that Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) manipulated her into believing a bogus diagnosis.
There are signs that perhaps Britt is perfectly fine – and that means the notion of motherhood could be back on the table.
