General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) passion may erupt. The show could offer the perfect storm after Carly’s recent Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) split and the rejection Drew faced from Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
GH fans know Drew and Carly have been running into each other a suspicious number of times lately.
Carly could easily be leaning on other people, but they’ve slid Drew into a Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) type of role and allowed him to guide her.
Of course, Drew knows he’s not a Jason replacement. He’s acknowledged that on more than one occasion, but he also doesn’t want to see Carly hurting.
Drew’s the kind of guy who steps up for the people he cares about – and that certainly includes Carly.
In fact, Drew and Carly’s bond has been developing a lot more in recent episodes.
The writers may or may not take Carly and Drew in a romantic direction, but there’s the potential for some passion here.
That’s particularly true since Carly just dumped Sonny – and Drew is feeling a bit rejected by Sam.
It’s easy to see a little lonely-hearts club forming between two sad confidants.
Could that be enough for Drew and Carly to take things to the next level? Could Carly and Drew inch out of the friend zone – if only for a steamy moment?
The show is obviously making an effort to be soapier these days, so it wouldn’t hurt to at least throw in a kiss between Carly and Drew.
A hookup might even be possible depending on just how much comfort Drew and Carly need!
The point is we’ve got two broken hearts searching for a port in the storm.
Based on that and how much Drew has been interacting with Carly, we can’t rule out some form of passion – whether it be a lip lock or surrendering to temptation in the bedroom.
That doesn’t mean GH necessarily has to commit to Carly and Drew as a pairing, though that’s a possibility, too.
Regardless, comfort can lead to steaminess on a daytime drama, so we’ll see how far Drew and Carly go in commiserating.
