General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) new last name will be revealed, so will she honor Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman)? Those seem like the two most logical options now that Carly’s decided she doesn’t want to keep Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) last name.
Carly just doesn’t want to feel like she’s tied to the life she left behind.
Now that Carly is finding herself and forging her own path, it doesn’t feel right being a Corinthos anymore.
Of course, Carly doesn’t want to go back to using Benson either.
Carly couldn’t even understand why Virginia Benson (Lois Nettleson) continued to use the name since Frank Benson was such a despicable loser.
Since Carly seems determined to change her last name, two real possibilities come to mind. The first one is the simplest and perhaps the most likely. Carly may decide to take Bobbie’s last name and officially become a Spencer.
That would fit with GH spoilers for the week of October 10-14, which involve Carly and Bobbie’s catch-up session.
Carly may call Bobbie or get a visit from her, so this would be a good opportunity to bring up the name change and move her biological mother to tears.
Bobbie might be touched and assure Carly that she’s welcome to be a Spencer.
However, there’s been a lot of talk about Jason since he arranged for Virginia to have this perfect cemetery plot near the ocean –
just like Virginia wanted. Carly was also married to Jason for a hot minute, even if Sonny’s return made that marriage invalid.
The point is Carly was all set to be Carly Morgan until her world got turned upside down.
Morgan also happens to be the name of the son Carly lost, so Carly could honor two important people if she chose that as her last name.
Carly would be carrying on Jason’s memory as well as the memory of Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig).
Since Jason was Drew’s brother, he might understand Carly’s desire to be a Morgan and approve.
Carly Morgan would certainly make some waves back in Port Charles, so maybe we should keep that name choice on the table!
Nevertheless, Carly Spencer makes the most sense, so that may be what she goes with in the end.
