General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) sob story doesn’t erase the Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) maternity secret. This heroic Florida moment is falling flat since Carly is doing a good deed while sitting on a life-changing shocker.
For starters, the whole cemetery thing feels forced considering Carly never cared to visit until her flight got derailed.
It’s just surprising that Virginia Benson’s (Lois Nettleton) grave potentially being moved is even that important to Carly.
The Jacksonville storyline feels like the writers just needed to keep Carly busy and out of the way for a while.
Since the show always gets plenty of complaints about Carly butting in other people’s stories, perhaps this was their effort to fix that and give Carly a story of her own.
However, perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to have Carly do all this soul-searching and play it up like growth for the character.
If Carly goes right back home and keeps secrets as usual, what’s really changed?
Carly can try to save as many cemeteries as she wants, but that doesn’t change the fact that she’s hiding the truth about Willow’s biological mother.
Even if Carly wants to strike back at Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros), Willow deserves to know Nina is her birth mom so she can decide for herself what to do.
Of course, it’s possible the show will surprise everyone and have Carly actually come clean now that she’s revisited her past.
It’s just tough to believe that’s the route GH writers have in mind.
The point of this Jacksonville plot seems to be making Carly the heroine and helping her see how far she’s come since her younger days.
Unfortunately, Carly seems poised to learn nothing at all and resume keeping a massive bio mom bombshell under wraps.
On the bright side, Carly’s time in Florida appears to be winding down.
The week of October 17-21 will bring peace for Carly as well as a conversation about her future with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison).
Things will soon be looking up for Carly, but she’ll return home and have to face the harsh reality of what she’s hiding from Willow!
Carly’s secret-keeping could get more complicated once the news of Willow’s leukemia starts to spread.
