General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) could get accused of stealing Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) necklace, so Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) may fume after the jewelry goes missing. Will Britt point the finger straight at Cody?
GH fans know Cody’s eyes lit up at the sight of the necklace in Peter’s safe deposit box.
Cody suggested it had to be worth millions of dollars and even did a test with a compact mirror to prove the diamonds were the real deal.
However, Cody seemed disappointed when Britt decided to just leave that necklace in the safe deposit box for now.
An edgy Cody wondered if that was such a good idea and pointed out that Britt could lose the key.
That felt more like Cody’s attempt to make excuses and convince Britt to take the necklace with her. Is that because it would’ve made the necklace easier to steal?
Regardless, Britt put the key in her bra, but she can’t leave it there around the clock.
There’s a chance Cody could snoop while Britt’s showering or something and score that key later.
It’d still be a challenge to get back into the safe deposit box without Britt present, but Cody might pull it off.
It’s possible Cody already knew about this necklace in advance and feels entitled to it based on something related to his past.
Then again, maybe seeing something so expensive is just bringing out Cody’s worst impulses.
Of course, we should also consider the possibility this is all a case of misdirection.
GH writers are going out of their way to make Cody look like a shady money-grubber who’s going to steal this necklace.
Perhaps they only want Cody to look guilty so that Britt can wrongfully accuse him.
After all, Cody will be the most likely culprit when the necklace inevitably goes missing.
Britt may lash out over Cody using her – only to find out someone else is actually to blame for the theft.
Cody feels like people tend to think the worst of him, so this could be another instance of that happening.
No matter how this plays out, Cody may get the finger pointed at him once Peter’s necklace presumably disappears.
