General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) might propose to Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) before he discovers that he’s still married to Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper). Stella Henry’s (Vernee Watson) stolen divorce papers are going to come back to haunt all parties involved, so it’s just a matter of when the bomb will drop.
Of course, Stella is hazy on the details of what happened just before and after her stroke.
That ordeal messed with Stella’s memory, but she assumes nothing important was in the envelope since she never heard from anyone about any missing documents.
The problem is that Curtis and Jordan don’t know they’re missing!
Stella has set the stage for major trouble and could play a role in a serious romantic crisis for Portia and Curtis.
Curtis assured Portia that the divorce papers were signed months ago and tried to convince her that his relationship with Jordan was in the past.
Although Curtis thinks he’s ready for a new chapter with Portia, his old one with Jordan remains unfinished – partially due to the stolen divorce papers.
Naturally, we also have to consider how Curtis might learn the truth.
The soapiest way would be for Curtis to pop the question to Portia and later find out he can’t marry her – not yet anyway.
Curtis may discover that Jordan is still his wife and get his world turned upside down.
This is the kind of thing that could make Curtis rethink his future since part of him still loves Jordan.
There’ll be other factors involved in the relationship drama ahead, but GH writers certainly intend to use the stolen divorce papers to contribute to the mess.
As for Curtis, some might think it’s a little soon to be proposing, but he could decide to go all in now that they’re living together.
Perhaps Curtis will want to lock in this next step with Portia – maybe even to convince himself that he’s over Jordan when he really isn’t.

General Hospital spoilers say Stella will have some explaining to do down the road, but she has to remember her own part in the disaster first.
