General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) may rattle Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) at Pentonville. Will their mutual Laura Collins (Genie Francis) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) connections spell trouble?
GH fans know that Cyrus was transferred back to Pentonville, which happens to be where Spencer ended up, too.
Sonny has promised to offer protection, but he’s admitted he can’t have people watching out for Spencer all the time.
As a result, Sonny has warned Spencer to keep his head down and try to avoid drama.
Of course, that could be easier said than done with a guy like Cyrus lurking around!
The show could easily plop Cyrus into this prison storyline – if only to mess with Spencer a bit.
Cyrus is a fascinating character because he’s a villain who’s capable of anything, but there’s also a deep desire within him for an accepting family.
Since Cyrus is Spencer’s great-uncle, that could put him in an interesting position.
Cyrus can be cruel and has sort of a love-hate relationship when it comes to Laura.
There’s a chance Cyrus could be far more of a foe than a friend – and that could put Spencer in grave danger.
On the other hand, Cyrus might see this as an opportunity to get back in Laura’s good graces.
Although Cyrus likes messing with Laura, there’s still part of him that seems to want a loving sister who cares about him.
If Cyrus stops another inmate’s attack on Spencer instead, that could earn him a few points with Laura since she’s Spencer’s grandmother.
However, it could also put Spencer in Cyrus’ debt, which is never a good place to be.
Spencer’s family connection to Sonny could make this scenario extra intriguing since Cyrus hates Sonny’s guts.
We could see Cyrus face an inner battle when it comes to whether he wants to help or hurt Spencer.
This could also present tricky territory for Spencer as he tries to decide how much to trust Cyrus.
Since Cyrus isn’t really so different from ruthless Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), Spencer might keep an open mind.
Bottom line, it’s been established that Spencer is in danger at Pentonville.
Cyrus could either add to that danger or save Spencer from it depending on how things play out.
There’s no guarantee Cyrus will pop up during Spencer’s three-month Pentonville stint, but it’d be exciting to see Spencer get rattled by him behind bars.
