General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that an Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) pairing may be on the way. Are we gearing up for a controversial new GH romance?
Once Esme showed up in Port Charles and worked to join Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Chavez) circle of friends, Cameron tried to give her the benefit of the doubt.
Even after Esme started clashing with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Cam found himself offering kindness to Esme at times and pushing for peace.
That compassionate side of Cameron might come back around when the time is right.
Of course, Esme has done some truly terrible things – including leaking that scandalous video of Cam and Josslyn’s first time sleeping together.
Esme also tried to destroy Trina’s life and have her sent to prison, but we’ve seen characters come back from worse!
Just look at how much Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) was willing to overlook when he gave Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) another chance.
Nelle drugged Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and pretended to sleep with him just to hurt Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright), but Michael forgave her – at least until Nelle showed her true colors once again!
At some point, Esme is going to need her own knight in shining armor.
There’ll surely be some love interest who decides to take a chance on Esme despite her past mistakes – and there are good reasons to think it’ll be Cameron.
For starters, we mentioned that Cam already has that compassionate foundation with Esme.
However, we’re also going to see Cameron get hurt deeply when Josslyn inevitably cheats with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer).
Cam may find himself feeling like nice guys finish last and not caring much what anyone thinks if he develops feelings for Esme.
There’s the potential for major drama if Cameron becomes Esme’s protector since Josslyn, Trina and Spencer would all be outraged.
Being with Esme would involve a great sacrifice on Cam’s part, but it might spark an actual change in Esme.
Spencer was always a tool for manipulation, but what if Esme genuinely falls hard for Cameron?
That could bring a weak spot that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstom) certainly wouldn’t approve of!
General Hospital spoilers say Ryan and Esme’s bond will remain dangerous, so one wrong move could blow things up.
Regardless, Esme is going to need a real love interest sooner or later – and Cam will need a new one once Josslyn ends up with Dex.
Cameron and Esme may be poised to become a controversial new pairing down the road, so we’ll bring you updates as other GH news comes in.
Of course, Esme has more scheming to do in the meantime and will have to find a way off the hook for her crimes, but Cameron could be waiting for a love story eventually.
